Minor League Baseball Discussion

Over the past few years I have found tracking prospects to be almost as much fun as watching the pro team that a root for. I'm sure a few others around here feel the same.

I believe we should at least be able to keep this on the front page most of the MLB season.

To start the thread off I am going to make my top 5 Prospects as of this moment.

1. Jurickson Profar, SS - Texas Rangers AA

Here's little Jurickson @ the LLWS a few years ago

Here is him now

OPSing .844 with 5HRs

2. Dylan Bundy, SP - Baltimore Orioles A+

Stats are pretty insane. 30IP 40K 2BB 0.00 era at low A
In two starts at A+ he has 13k 1BB

3. Nick Castellanos, 3B - Detroit Tigers AA

Nick was promoted tonight to Double A Erie after hitting .405 and OPSing 1.015 at A+

His splits are good, and he's hitting RHP better than LHP. HR power looks like it will be right around the corner, but he only had 3 in A+ so far.

4. Trevor Bauer, SP - Arizona Diamondbacks AAA

91K 38BB in 73IP between AA/AAA this season.

5. Wil Myers, OF - Kansas City Royals

He has been face raping baseballs this season.

OPS'd 1.146 in AA with 13HRs in 36 games
OPSing 1.044 in AAA in 19 games with 6HRs

Good thread idea. Since you covered Bauer, here is the Diamondbacks up and coming lefty Tyler Skaggs acquired in the Dan Haren trade:

Pitching in AA, Tyler has 54ip, 48h, 56k/15bb

Re: Minor League Baseball Discussion

Not sure but it looks like a few from the list have already made their way to the bigs so it would be cool to see a revised list.

jurickson gunna be GOAT

crushed the SALLy league as an 18 yr old, crushing AA right now as a 19yr old.

power + speed + plate discipline + plus defense at SS

Re: Minor League Baseball Discussion

although he is in high A ball, Jackie Bradley Jr. is ripping tits right now in Salem.

through 52 games: .387 AVG, 3 HR, 31 RBI, 13 SB, 1.084 OPS

edit: and obv teheran. most other clubs he would already be up. he's already made several starts in the bigs. jair jurrjens is in gwinnett with him lol

i'm like 90% sure they do. my friend blows his load over the minors and i remember him telling me last year they did.

well, i'm not sure about that list. but milb does. as they should -- they still have harper and trout 1, 2.
