Yeah, I saw he was 16th in career fWAR. Compilers are a really good proxy for best ever, but someone like Jimmie Foxx or Joe D is "better" to me than Rickey, because uber-dominance over several years is a better proxy. No one would say Nolan Ryan is better than Koufax. And be right.

The fact that he kinda sucked for the last 10 years takes a little of the varnish off.

Best player from 80-90 tho

longoria came into the league as a 22yr old and hit .272/.343/.531 /w 7 steals

trout as a 20yr old is hitting .341/.397/.562 /w 26 steals already

trout hits leadoff, obv he has a **** ton more steals for starters

longoria was an ultra elite prospect is all im saying and there waqs a ton of buzz for him early on.

and that harper will forever be > mike trout
