Obviously play levels can vary year to year, but the only guys we've really lost on D are Vilma and Tracy Porter, who was very likely to lose his starting job anyway to Patrick Robinson. Then you throw in a DC who is probably going to be better than Williams was in Spags and I think reasonable improvement isn't out of the question at all.

Here's a blog post that summarizes a lot of the flimsiness of what has been going on:

I agree with all of it sans the speculation part, but that's labeled as speculation anyway so it's not like the author is saying he really believes all of it anyway. I know it's not some silver bullet piece of rebuttal evidence, but it is pretty funny that the only players that were carted off during Saints games the 3 years this was supposedly running were Reggie Bush, Tracy Porter, Courtney Roby, and Pierre Thomas. All Saints.
Ha, that's my blog

I periodically check the traffic sources, and was unusually happy to see "forumserver.twoplustwo.com."

Two Plus Two remains my favorite forum even though I rarely play poker anymore.

Forced to fight for his name in a "public trial" against the NFL, Browns linebacker Scott Fujita vowed he did not participate in the New Orleans Saints' bounty program.

Fujita, suspended for three games by the league for allegedly contributing "a significant amount" of money to a pay-for-hits pool while he played for the Saints, maintained his innocence on Tuesday in his first public comments since the disturbing scandal broke.

"That is not true," he said.

why the heck would the defense take a huge hit?? where do you people come from? I see no dropoff on both offense and defense from last year.

I'm way more worried about the Brees negotiations than about the suspensions in terms of how good the team will be.

CAR +600 for the division is starting to look good to me.

So either the NFL has iron-clad proof that in addition to running a bounty program, the Saints are also pants-on-head retarded as a franchise OR the NFL has dug itself so far into the hole by making up evidence that there's no escape.

I think there are some people who aren't even Saints fans that want to see the evidence not because they believe in due process, or because they don't think bounties existed, but for the mere fact that they can't accept it in their hearts that a team would be dumb enough to leave a ridiculous paper trail.

Re: New Orleans Saints Bounty Program - Pair of Pliers and a Blowtorch

Why should the nfl have to release the evidence to the public? That story says the ledger was shown to some of the players who were under investigation.

I legit can't believe how ****ing stupid the saints were in this whole thing. We have email exchanges with ornstein, the dr heat! tape and now this ledger. How could they leave all this in writing jfc
