LOLSAINTS Bounty Program - Pair of Pliers and a Blowtorch

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/09000d..._breaking_news

Quote:
After a lengthy investigation conducted by the NFL's security department, the league announced Friday that 22 to 27 defensive players on the New Orleans Saints maintained a "pay for performance" program that included "bounty" payments administered by then-defensive coordinator Gregg Williams during the 2009, 2010 and 2011 seasons.
Quote:
The report found that Saints head coach Sean Payton was aware of the allegations and did not make any inquires and failed to stop the program

Before the 2009 NFC Championship Game, Saints linebacker Jonathan Vilma offered any defensive teammate $10,000 in cash to knock then-Vikings quarterback Brett Favre out of the game. Favre was hit viciously several times in the game. That fact was in a report to the 32 NFL owners, sent out by the league to detail further what the league's 50,000-page investigation found.

The week earlier, this happened to Kurt Warner:

And in perfect timing... He has joined Twitter... and hasn't retired yet!

Re: New Orleans Saints Bounty Program

punished more than the pats were for spygate?

so will they lose their entire draft?

EDIT: saints don't even have a first rounder this year (traded it), sneaky bastards.
Guess the NFL will have to seize the Saints' 2013 draft.

i mean, if the nfl is actually serious about making the game safer, their hand is kinda forced, right?

the only thing that would surprise me about this is if the saints were the only team doing it

Re: New Orleans Saints Bounty Program

What kind of punishments do we think can actually happen? If this is a cap violation, there could be multiple fines and docs to the cap. I expect at least 2 first round picks and maybe Payton and other coaches getting suspended.

I'd probably institute a similar policy if I'm a coach. You want to create a battle oriented aura with rewards.
