I don't know if you guys are leveling or what but it is not standard for players to actively try to force each other to get carted off. "jacked up" is a lot different then intentionally trying to injure.

Either way **** the Saints and their rigged super bowl, I hope they get punished to obscurity.

and yes I still mad

Payton not just knowing about it but being involved in emails means he better be fired. Plus I cant stand a football coach who wears a visor.

This is the hit to Peyton Manning where Tony Dungy said injured his neck. This is against a Greg Williams led defense in 2006:

i wasn't leveling, i don't really watch ESPN - i was pretty sure it wasn't still on.

fantasy football was not a thing 15 years ago and football was still the most popular sport. there's a percentage of fans who gamble, and it's high, but i think it's not as high as you would guess.

Matt Bowen drank way too much of the Greg Williams kool-aid:

http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports...4015992.column

"I wanted to be That Guy for him, playing the game with an attitude opposing players absolutely feared. If that meant playing through the whistle or going low on a tackle, I did it.

I don't regret any part of it. I can't. Williams is the best coach I ever played for in my years in the NFL, a true teacher who developed me as a player. I believed in him. I still do. That will never change."

The fact he considers Williams the best coach ever pretty much voids him of any credibility.

you're underrating how large of a factor fantasy football has been in the rise of the NFL. fantasy certainly wasn't nearly as popular before everyone had an internet connected laptop during the games. NFL was popular back then sure but it wasn't running laps around other sports like it is now. certainly NBA was much closer to it back then.

I hope everyone itt who is saying, "Saints are not the only team that were doing something like this," felt the same way about the Pats situation. There is plenty of evidence that other teams were doing what the Pats did (especially in prior years, not sure about 2007), but the Pats were made an example of, just like the Saints are going to be in this case.

Whoa whoa whoa - I thought the official line on that was that the Patriots weren't being helped at all by cheating. Now it's that everyone was cheating (and not being helped?). Let's get our ducks in a row here, Pats fans.

Yes bury your head in the sand and pretend the Pats were the only ones doing it despite plenty of evidence to the contrary. And as far as I know, there is no official line all Pats fans follow regarding the situation. Do I need to sign up for a newsletter to get the marching orders?

that was different only because everyone hated the Pats. The opportunity to call them "cheaters" was simply irresistible for too many people

Fine, this will be my last post in this thread. Just wanted to point out the blatant hypocrisy and thought it was relevant.

Pretty sure that the rule they were breaking in spygate was that they were filming from their own sidelines. So they were fined for where they were filming, not what they were filming.

They gained no competitive advantage because all teams would actively take notes or tape opposing teams sidelines, Pats definately werent the only ones.

Just as now with the saints alot of ex players are saying how they had something similiar in their locker rooms, after spygate alot of coaches and ex coaches came out and said every team in the league does the same.

You cant fine every team and take every teams 1st round pick, So the Pats who were first to be complained about were made an example out of so others teams knew it was best to stop.

Likewise the NFL isnt going to investigate every team about these bounty programs and unleash a PR nightmare that the league is full of thugs out to seriously harm each other, so they are gonna make an example out of the Saints so that other teams know to stop if they are doing the same.

If they are paying bounties, one would assume that they are probably paying fines incurred by players.

There were people who said the similar stuff about spygate so don't know what you're going on about.

Most people would say this is way worse (and have) than spygate

This probably happens quite a bit across the league informally, but obv getting caught having more or less some form of formal institutional backing from coaches means wegongetraped.jpg. Hopefully just ass rape level fines, but I got a feeling some draft picks are gonna get got. Definitely disappointing.

Also lol nig guy and LOL 50k page document, good god that's absurd.

Every time you watch a team you root for in a game that matters, you gamble with your heart.

And this could not possibly happen at a worse time for all sorts of reasons, unless some miracle happens and Loomis can actually get a Brees deal done in time with all this going on then Nicks is definitely gone as well as Colston.
