rookie centerfielder trout leads the al in fwar, and is second in the al to brett lawrie in rwar (he should be first in that too; lawrie is good but drs is giving him way too much credit for toronto's shift)
ridiculous offense
.345/.402/.543
.418 woba
168 wrc+ (3rd in mlb)
sick defense
he smiles a lot
trout's not just running hot. leading free projection system zips has him as a true talent ~5 war player as a 20 year old rookie.
he is the next great centerfielder and probably the best player under 25, and possibly the best player under 26 in baseball. trout may currently be the most valuable asset in mlb.
what do you mean by review? up to date numbers are available on trout's fangraphs page. zips ros would be the approximation for true talent.
this is an actual review of leading projection systems available to the public. all the others on the list cost money except chone which doesn't exist anymore (well it's probably being used in some form by whatever team hired sean smith).
i guess this would be considered the home of zips. it's a closed system though so you can't see exactly how it works. if you really care you can search tom tango's site; he has a bunch of articles explaining how projections work in general which will tell you most of what is in zips.

Reason: rip chone
Better defensively.....better on the base paths...and just now tapping into his power and should be able to hit 30HR in the next few years, still only 25...
I liked Mike Trout but his reaction after that catch in Baltimore turned me off to him. Shouting whoo a bunch of times and beating your chest come on son act like you've been there before. Bryce Harper would never do that.

main reason he wouldn't have done it is that he wouldn't have made the catch.
austin jackson is really good but he's probably not as good with the stick as trout and he's 5 years older. they're both likely sick good at d.
you should be very happy with austin and the trade. i thought it was stupid at the time but it looks like the tigers got a steal by swapping a player with a similar true talent level (trading defense for offense but overall jackson and granderson project to produce about the same war over a full season) who is much cheaper and younger.

So showing emotion after an amazing catch diminishes him as a player? Or you're of the school that Cole Hamels comes from?

but he's no trout
Mission Complete. Phildo said something good about a Tiger. May the thread carry on in peace.
what kind of contract could trout land if he were a free agent tomorrow? 12/300? would it make more sense for him to sign for 6-8 years so he could lock up a second mega contract through his late 30s to maximize his total pull?

Cmon son I know you're an elite troll but you can do better than that... Trout is once in a generation type talent Austin Jackson is good but cmon dawg hes like 25
