The bizarre thing to me is how people are now blaming Chip for this roster. People realize the team has sucked for years, right? He inherited this; he didn't build it. I'm not even trying to defend him as much as I'm just genuinely confused as to how people can blame him for it.

This is the simplistic, "I know nothing about Chip Kelly except what ESPN tells me" defense. Google Chip's Xs and Os stuff. Go watch film on the simplistic-yet-complex offensive schemes he runs. He wrote a whole manifesto type thing that is just absurdly good. But yes, let's write him off because of the trash Reid left behind on defense. That makes way more sense.

in defense of kelly the eagles defense might be the least talented unit in all of football. i don't know how much of a defense for kelly that is and how much that can be factored into this or how long that can last as an excuse, but it is really really REALLY bad
