Would easily make it the worst NA sports league, miles behind even lolMLS. NHL needs contraction, get rid of some of these awful franchises.

The Flames and Oilers fans road trips to Arizona are already legendary; going to Vegas would be an unreal snowbird trip for a lot of us.

I troll, but I really think the NHL product suffers the most out of the big four from having too many teams. I have zero numbers to back up my "claim" but from my perspective I would enjoy watching it more if there were less teams and a shorter season/playoffs.

i doubt a team in vegas will last. it will have to be a winning team to stay competitive and if there an expansion, thats at least 5+yrs away from when they first drop the puck. itd be fun to have a team in vegas but i dont think it will work out. who knows tho arizona loses 30mil a yr for 10+yrs and there still around. hockey in desert 2.0? just go to quebec. new arena. billionaire owner. crazy fanbase. renewed rivalry with MTL and english speaking canadian teams. Stronger CAD (sort of?). profit?
wishful thinking but id love to see another canadian team especially in quebec city

Hockey is so well suited to a shortened season with saturday games it would be amazing. 34 teams no big deal with less games/depth needed per team.

I think a NHL team could work here. The minor league hockey team (LV Wranglers) drew OK and that was for pretty bad hockey. Lots of transplants from the midwest / east are here and presumably would go to support whatever team they grew up rooting for when they come to town.

Still, a Big 4 sports pro team setting up shop in Vegas? I'll have to see it to believe it.

Expand to Vegas and Quebec. Move Arizona and Florida to Hamilton and Saskatoon. No real rationale behind it other than I prefer to see more Canadian teams and a team in Vegas would be fun. According to Forbes' NHL team valuations, all the Canadian teams are relatively healthy:

Toronto #1
Monteal #3
Vancouver #5
Edmonton #12
Calgary #13
Ottawa #16
Winnipeg #20

They all pretty much fill up the arena every game (Ottawa lowest at 95.3% average capacity this season).
