I know why sports have drug testing and that's fine and all, but I'm not a big fan of this retroactively going back and testing samples from years ago, I mean that's just stupid, you can't un race all those races.

Have your tests, if someone fails, punish them. You can't wait like 3+ years later and test some sample again and then punish them, there's a reason the legal system has statute of limitations and most of those reasons make sense for crap like this too. Apparently they have an 8 year limit (LOL).

I mean clearly he probably doped through all of them, but if you have a positive test from 2009 how can you vacate every race he's ever won, including those from like a decade before.

I used to be of the opinion that he needed to be prosecuted and held accountable. Now I dont. Taking him down now will only do more harm than good. If he is officially found to have doped, then that takes away from the Lisestrong foundation and all teh good work it does. Lance has been a teriffic ambasssador for cancer research and in trying to improve the state of fitness in America ( we need it) and even globally. Time for the witch hunt to die.

One really ****ty consequence is that Lance won't be able to race in the Kona Ironman. That was shaping up to be a race for the ages.

Im fairly sure that he did dope, but his statements are incredibly good for someone in his situation. Despite the history of the sport, hes so stubbornly arrogant in defending his honor, that one can almost believe him.
