Re: La Liga/Serie A/Bundesliga/Eredivisie/Ligue 1 2012-13

German Supercup (Dortmund @ Bayern) tonight at 8pm German time.

I think it would be good psychologically if we win and can extend the winning streak against Bayern but at the end of the day I don't really care about this game. We lost against Schalke last year and went on to dominate the league and a loss against Schalke is worse than a loss against Bayern for me.

At least both teams are expected to play their strongest teams that they can right now so that should be interesting. Dunno if Götze is out for the game but I want to see him+Reus+Kuba.

Pretty much on the same page here. Who cares about the cup itself? But losing a sixth time in a row against you would sting.

I heard Kehl and Bender out for you. Götze is fit to play (source dpa).

Bayern:

Definitely out: Contento, Alaba, Rafinha, Gómez

Questionable: Schweinsteiger, Pizarro

I guess it's safe to say you're the favorites tonight, even though I doubt BVB officials agree with me .

Yeah Kehl and Bender out afaik and I expect Götze to be used as a sub.

Meh at Bayern I think we're not favs.

I don't think Götze played for Dortmund 2 yesterday so he'll see some playing time. I think he'll start and get subbed soonish or come on as a sub.

Bender out 4 weeks, double harnia that requires operation. I guess Leitner will play for him. Kind of wanted to see Gündogan+Leitner anyways and evaluate a bit how much the extra body mass of Leitner helps him

BeIn Sports has the rights to Serie A in Canada, but does not have a channel to show them on. If they try to get on Canadian TV, it's a long process, 6-8 months.

Only hope for Canadian Serie A fans is that BeIn license out the matches for the season.

I've read that they have no plans to sub license any of the games they have the rights to

This is a teaser for the Supercup 2011 live coverage on the Bundesliga's youtube channel. There is no such teaser for this year's match, but I figure for those of you interested in watching later (but don't get it on TV in your country) it may be worth a try, as I guess this will be one of the better quality streams.

The video description says it was available last year in the following countries:

India, Ireland, Japan, UK, USA

the other kick in the nuts was that TheScore was streaming their Serie A games online with an A+ quality feed.

Last year was good, you could downgrade your Rogers package to the bare minimum, pick up SNetWorld and then stream Serie A.

This year is going to suck. Had to go back to the 1500 channel package just to get ****ing TSN

And we still don't have GolTV available in HD.

Fast start for Bayern and the kind of Dortmund defensive breakdowns that it's pretty amazing (to their credit) don't happen more often.

Mandzukic couldn't have asked for a better start either, already showing the greatness of bringing a few un-Gomez-like qualities to the Bavarian table (especially against the Dortmund-machine), creating chances.

Normally the Cup winner hosts but Dortmund already hosts a live Free TV game for the season opening (which is one of only 2 live league games on Free TV for the season) so they gave it to Bayern.

Obviously not a good game from us so far, looks like we are missing the energy that usually makes our team work (pressing etc.).
