Definitely cool of Spieth to honor his commitment this week. It sounds like they had a large crowd out following him around. He gave 25 interviews in 24 hours they said, and didn't even have time to play a practice round before going out yesterday.

Harbor Town is a tough course to skip a practice round on because it's a course where you basically have to position every tee shot in a small area if you want the right angle (or an angle at all) to those tiny ass greens.

The game is way too global and competitive these days. It's going to be very, very difficult for either of them (much less both) to win >50 Tour events in their career. I also feel like they need to reduce the lifetime Tour exemption from 20 wins to like 16 or so.

And lol @ they "should" combine for >20 majors. Jesus.

That would pretty much make both of them top 10 all time winners on tour and top 5 all time in majors? Possible, but still unlikely...and this is no indictment on either guy's talent, but rather a statement about the depth of the field now and going forward.

Simply put, saying that Tiger > Jack, for instance, based on overall strength of the field (which I happen to believe) but then saying that same field is going to effectively lay down to Spieth and McIlroy for the next 20 years is like trying to have your Perkins and eat it too.

Everyone with >11 wins is well into their 40s. I left a few guys out like Toms who I don't even think have their full Tour card anymore, or are old anyway. Rory is the only golfer in his twenties with more than 4 Tour wins. Guys like Reed and Spieth will join him in the near future, though.
