durant (should theoretically get more than lebron, but past 5 years out, anything could happen)
dwight howard
kevin love (could be lower, but still top 10)
russel westbrook
anthony davis (if he is what everyone says he is, than he should actually be higher)
deron williams (best pg in the league, only catch-and-shoot knock down shooting pg in l, just needs a squad and more desire, maybe they are pos. correlated)
demarcus cousins (will be best pf if he keeps his head, derrick coleman 2nd coming; unlike blake, he is skilled offensively with comparable beastliness)
greg monroe (only center i can think of that still has solid upside; lamarcus and m gasol have peaked; i hate (on) bynum)
nick young (swaggy p, no brainer obv)
honorable mention: kyrie (most efficient pg off dribble out of cp3, nash, rondo, others - and can shoot off catch, and seems to have capacity to diversify his game, great size)

1-5 is solid and then i lol'ed.

Re: If they re-drafted the entire NBA
Chad Ford (ESPN Analyst) just said this is the complete list of players that could not be traded straight up for Anthony Davis right now:
-LeBron
-KD
-CP3
I think this is pretty close to accurate.

You wouldn't build a team around Bynum?? You're insane. He has an attitude problem yes, but who wouldn't playing for Mike brown.
As far as my PG selections: Rose WILL still be as good as he is now( which is the best guard in the leauge behind Durant) he works too hard not to be. Rondo is a triple double waiting to happen. Westbrook not only can fill the stat sheet, but can win the game for you. Granted, he blew it in the finals. No, I am a Chicago fan, not OKC. I forgot tony parker tho, he deserves a top 10. CP3, not so much

Bynum reminds me too much of Patrick Ewing...good but will never get it done.
I like Tony Parker but how could you pick a player 30 or over....
Rose is good but I think he is ala Allen Iverson won't age well and hard to build a team around.
Rondo? seriously? How could you pick a guard who passes up unguarded 3's every 2nd possession.

Of course I'd build a team around Bynum.. but him going 2nd overall is really bad.

I'm sorry, but comparing Bynum to Ewing is like comparing Dennis Hopson to Michael Jordan. Just as close.
Ewing wasted most of his career playing with subpar players, and still got his team to game 7 of the Finals. Can't say he didn't perform up to his ability. And if you compare those two, Ewing would absolutely destroy Bynum, as he has actual offensive skills. On top of that, he's was a warrior who played every night and was consistent, two things Bynum will never be able to say about himself. Bynum also gets the benefit of playing in a league that has about 3 capable centers left, so it's not like he is facing Hakeem out there every night.

Re: If they re-drafted the entire NBA
LeBron - not close
Durant - not close
Dwight - this is probably consensus
Westbrook - if you're redrafting he can be the star, not worry about deferring to KD
Rondo - this could be flipped w/ Kyrie, depends on what you're looking for
Kyrie - see Rondo
Anthony Davis - I think he lives up to all the hype
Rose - would be higher, but I worry about him losing speed/explosiveness due to injury
CP3 - older but can still run a team and take over for stretches, I can be talked to him being outside the top 10
Melo - still one of the best scorers in the game, can build around him

I'll do a top 5 so I actually contribute
Lebron: King with a crown. Royalty first.
KD: Pretty good despite being a pesky Lolhorn. No rangz = no #1 ldo
Dwight Howard: Pretty big dude, assuming we can keep him happy dappy.
Anthony Davis: Good enough to get away with that look. That's all I need.
Kevin Love: Love.

Re: If they re-drafted the entire NBA
i could def be convinced by durant>labron
most players peak around 25, then maintain until 28-30 at which pt they fall off. assuming this is true for labron and durant, using PER, and assuming both guys have maxed out (labron at 31, durant at 26), will play at this level til they're 31, then fall off at 1 PER per yr before retiring at age 37, there's a pretty clear edge for durant. 20% more "PER pts"
also, i think durant could age better, and will likely peak at higher than 26 PER since he's only 23. then again labron's defensive superiority probably isn't adequately captured here either. so it's a super simple method riddled with flaws but an interesting baseline to look at imo
| | labron | durant | | age | PER | PER | | 19 | 18.3 | 15.8 | | 20 | 25.7 | 20.8 | | 21 | 28.1 | 26.2 | | 22 | 24.5 | 23.6 | | 23 | 29.1 | 26.2 | | 24 | 31.7 | 26 | | 25 | 31.1 | 26 | | 26 | 27.3 | 26 | | 27 | 30.7 | 26 | | 28 | 31 | 26 | | 29 | 31 | 26 | | 30 | 31 | 26 | | 31 | 31 | 26 | | 32 | 30 | 25 | | 33 | 29 | 24 | | 34 | 28 | 23 | | 35 | 27 | 22 | | 36 | 26 | 21 | | 37 | 25 | 20 | | | 289 | 343 |
