Re: Official Hollywood Dynasty Draft, signup thread.
I think we should not draft producers at all. The people picking are the studio heads, ie I am studio head of my group. I employ actors / writers / directors / composers... but all the general stuff is taken care of and we assume everyone has same quality at other spots in the production.

Re: Official Hollywood Dynasty Draft, signup thread.
Yeah I agree with producers...the more I think about it I'm not sure we should do writers either...writer is so much more top heavy than actor/director...and it gets confusing with screenplay/novel/w.e

Re: Official Hollywood Dynasty Draft, signup thread.
I think drafting writers is a must.
I'm fine w/ no producers.

I believe there is, its called 'The Movies, its actually a good game.
I would enjoy to be in this. Completely grunching for now, but would like to possibly see some genre categories. Action hero, comedy star, etc.

Well then you shouldn't mind having replacement level production. Perhaps there is a producer out there who actually does something of value that would be useful to your studio.

Clarify? Don't need to name anyone. I think "producer" is too broad of a term for purpose of the draft. Obviously they do something of value. Replacement level production in this draft will be really, really good so there's that.
Are you talking about individuals or production companies?

Re: Official Hollywood Dynasty Draft, signup thread.
Ungrunching: I think open drafting is the best option now, you just pick whoever you want and you argue however you want. Its already subjunctive enough, why restrict it.
Also I think writers are fairly important, but maybe too hard to do for this particular format.
Also I'm down to team up with someone. I know movies fairly well, but this thing is gonna be a time sink like no other. I remember wasting hours on the NBA modern draft and I was not even in the damn thing.

I'm pretty sure that was a factor in the one draft I've participated in here, but I don't know if it's been the case in the other drafts.

yeah, writeups do suffer in double pick rounds

Bobbo, the two don't necessarily go hand in hand though...? Is the goal to be successful in the sense that our movies will sell lots of tickets/be popular then?
|
well, either goal could be your primary focus. i think you should try to do both tho. i will just leave it with that
standard snake
1st round single picks
2nd-nth double picks
no duo picks
if you're worried about the quality of writeups - don't let people post their pick without a writeup
I kinda like that.
