england or any euro country is the best imo. great infrastructure, low crime, great food and culture, great cities etc. pretty much think every cup should be in euroland.

usa is a great country with great cities but it is too spread out.

australia is sparse, with only a few viable cities and is similarly spread out to the usa.

asia had it in 02 so i dont see why they would get it before the states, and the time zones suck for merican viewers.

I originally thought Russia/Australia but the more I see about FIFA wanting to jizz if China would make a bid for 2026 I don't think FIFA is going to give 2022 to another AFC country. USA 2022 it is.

An a yank I actually found it quite refreshing to have matches starting between like 2 and 8am. It was probably one of the last experiences of an extremely meaningful event with zero fair-weather, uninformed fans I will ever see.

I'll never forget USA/Slovenia 6am in the Venetian. It was incredible.

This. They'd be pissing away so much money and goodwill if they didn't. Similar to how Utah eased regulations before hosting the 2002 Olympics.

Realy hope Qatar dont get it in 2022. Would be awful to watch teams try and play when its routinely 40C, games would suck balls as teams would be drained after 45mins and would need drinks every 15mins to prevent anyone getting heatstroke/whatever. Would rather Australia and then USA got it.

I watched some of Qatar's presentation and they said they will have outdoor air-conditioned stadiums that they will be able to take apart and give to 3rd world countries. I also heard them say that they will basically air-condition the entire country and that this technology already exists and its all carbon neutral. O.o

2022 off the board after some serious money (allegedly) comes in on USA. According to Grant Wahl (SI) twitter they were favorites before the odds taken down.

iirc this happened in the us94 wc in cities like dallas and dc. stopped play once a half for drinks.
