remember that corruption report by that american laywer bloke which fifa commissioned and then declined to publish? der germans have supposedly got their hands on it. they are yet to release details of the whole thing, but,

I've heard about the ten year old daughter thing on a German documentary about a year ago, I believe. Was it that Trinidadian-Tobagoan official's daughter? Not sure, but he's most definitely one of the most investigated guys in the whole FIFA corruption thing.

Seems like the article is just rumors, though. The reason given is the sanctions by Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Egypt, and UAE with respect to Qatar.

So I wanted to start the qualification thread as the draw for the first AFC qualifying round will be held on Wednesday.

But apparently FIFA hasn't even decided if they might expand the 2022 rtournament to 48 teams already (inititally this was planned for 2026), also adding potential neighbouring countries as hosts:

I guess I'll wait with the thread until June then, as most confederations haven't even decided on their qualification format either.

Or we'll just use this one, as this farce should be boycotted anyway.

CONCACAF has announced its qualifying format, and it's ... controversial.

Top 6 of the June 2021 will play the HEX straight away, top three qualify for Qatar.

The other 29 teams will be placed in 8 groups (home-and-away). THe 8 Group winners will play two-legged knokcout ties until the winner gets to play 4th place of the HEX for the inter-continental playoff spot.

Seems like a bad joke iyam, especially if your a team close to the Top 6.
