Still, shame that Max ruined both of the Red Bull's races with that **** up. Could've been quite exciting.

still think btw that mercs have a substantial advantage overall. they were god awful at monaco, meh in hungary and probably will be meh in singapore and abu dhabi but i expect they'll have the advantage everywhere else, especially the next two monza and spa

I think it should (always) be a penalty. Locking up isn't something that randomly happens given a healthy car+tires. He brakes later and thus has to go harder on the pedal. It's a gamble that didn't pay off and 95+% of accidents don't have a driver intentionally driving into the other.

That isn't to say it isn't enforced with being results oriented. If he gets a puncture and wobbles into the pits losing a minute then no way he gets the penalty.

Also pretty lol that Magnussen got off lighter with what he did to Hülkenberg.

I'd say most of what they care about is winning constructors over Mercedes, it's how the prize money gets handed out. On that front, they were in a spot that they needed to gamble for the 1-2 as well. Think it being an unpassable circuit played a big part too.

Yeah, looks like Hamilton is still a slight favorite to ship it among the bookmakers.

Rooting for him after the display of CHARACTER today.

Der Markt has one of the Mercs taking this 70%, Bottas being > Seb seems like a good measure that the track should really fit them. Seeing 60% chance of rain on Sunday though.

Bah, why is everything this Sunday. Gonna miss Arse-Plop and this. Luckily no NFL yet.

rumors that seb has signed his ferrari extension. one more year, so will be a free agent at the end of 2018. pretty strong indicator that he wants a go at a mercades drive cos that's when lewis' current contract runs out. ricciardo too

mercs struggling to overpower the ferraris in Q3. might have the engine turned down a bit or whatever, but if they legit cant match them at spa its time to panic

A Lewis-Seb pairing would be fun. Epic bitching ahead. I'm a bit surprised at that Lauda admission because german media gives a clear sense that his priorities are 1. Lewis and that's it. I guess Mercedes couldn't pass up the chance to get a top german driver tho.

kimi was doing really well all thru quali but bollocks'd his final lap up. ferraris appear to be only a couple tenths slower than mercs

looks to be no rain. weather reports for spa notoriously unreliable tho due to micro-climate shenanigans

ere we go then. bottas vs seb vs kimi into the first few corners likely to be high drama

weather report still says clear skies, possibility of a bit of rain in the area in a few hours but even it if turns up the race should be done by then

no idea if this is even remotely possible, but if they could fudge the aerodynamics such that its possible to closely follow the car in front without ruining your tyres it would do a lot of good

maybe just allow the tyre manufacturers to maximise performance (they could make them 1000x more durable if they wanted) and mandate pit stops in a certain lap range (eg ppl gotta stop between laps 16-20 and again between 38-45)
