The fact that the team didn't think Rosberg could win the title on his own merits so they tried to handicap Hamilton is a bit insulting true

It's not like Alonso has done much recently except bitch.

I think Wehrlein has a reputation for bitchy fits as well, so if he gets it, we're in for a great ****show.

yea wehr is apparently a massive wanker behind the scenes

decided i wanna see seb vs lewis in mercs and danny vs max in the RBs, no idea who wins those two battles or the overall title race. dont want a 4 time champ plodding away in a useless ferrari during the prime of his career

Alonso has said multiple times that McLaren will be his last team in F1 fwiw

Would be really cool to see him battle lewis again tho.

alonso and wehr are the faves according to der markt

maybe wehr for one year, and then if hes no good hoover up seb when his ferrari contract runs out for the following year. cheap but risky - if the RBs are competitive i doubt merc want a wildcard in one of their cars cos he could blow the constructors c'ship

wtf Rosberg retires? is F1 that dangerous or something? just tired of racing?

Weird move to finally get to the top and then just call it quits.

Williams driver Valtteri Bottas is Mercedes' first choice to replace Nico Rosberg as Lewis Hamilton's team-mate, BBC Sport has learned.

But Williams have rejected an initial offer to release Finn Bottas from his 2017 contract.

In a separate development, Mercedes technical boss Paddy Lowe is close to finalising a deal to join Williams.

Lowe is set to be replaced at the world champions by former Ferrari technical director James Allison.

Are there any shows on Canadian or U.S. TV that cover F1?

Can someone recommend a podcast? Something that covers the general behind-the-scenes stuff?

I missed qualifying, but tonight's the night!

T minus 1 hour and 45 mins for the track parade.

On TSN there are about 15 news stories and a half hour documentary about Stroll.

The qualifying isn't available to watch.

There are four commentators.

They're comparing laps by two different teams that's a good sign! I've never seen that!

Did Ross Brawn just say they want to go to a spec engine?

Oh, maybe not.

Oh, Ricky!

Race was a crap apart from Max slowing Hamilton.

For all the chat about the cars and tyres being bigger, I thought the least they could do was have the old and new side by side so we could easily compare.

Having a new thread for this year? Regardless, in. Hoping for a close fight this year, looks promising.
