Whoops, Regensburg was the other Top 4 club. But Osnabrück is in the Lower Saxony regional association which is (one of) the biggest and sends two teams each season.

The midweek fixture might have something to do with scheduling the relegation play-offs. Also, there's a holiday in Germany tomorrow.

It's probably because the league finished a week earlier last season (because of the Euros?) so they could schedule it the Saturday after the Pokal final without running too far into the summer

Isn't the name of that competition a bit misleading given the relative size of some of those clubs? There's former Bundesliga teams in there.

Yes, some professional 3rd league sides such as Fortuna Köln need to ship this today. But for me it's more where the hell Dorfmerkingen (Kickers are 4th league btw) is..or MSV Pampow. Great name for a football club.

Last year had Germania Egestorf-Langreder vs Drochtersen-Assel. Both 4th division teams tho, I'd imagine all players there are pros

Pretty much but officially only the top 3 leagues are pro, I think?

Dorfmerkingen has 1100 inhabitants and is in the middle of Aalen, Nördlingen and Heidenheim. Pampow is south of Schwerin and has 2800 inhabitants.

I'll be rooting for Schweinfurt today, that's a trip I might make because it's not that far from my home.

seems reasonable.

marcelo > f.luis, tho.
probably rm's best player overall this season tbh.

That was quick. 1-0 for Cottbus before Bartels could finish blabbering about nonsense.

top goalscorer in la liga, europe and champions league.
prolly in copa too, come saturday.

that ugly thing should be sitting on the mantelpiece of messi household, right next to this year's golden boot.

That Messi™ goal against Eibar is super cool, or even some sick free-kick of his, but you have to score it against PSG or Juve, or against Malaga, Depor, Celta etc. Or in the 4 finals he lost with Argentina.

There's a reason Ronaldo will win his 5th BdO this year. He was crucial in winning the league and making yet another CL final. The only time Messi was the best player itw in these last 5 years, is when Suarez and Neymar were crushing teams left and right, he was nutmegging Milner and co. and the camera was focusing on Pep's reactions to hype it up.

Now that Neymar and Suarez are not at 100% anymore, Messi seems to have gone in that state of football where he is injured.
yeah, ima let you finish ruminating and quoting your own weird fantasies, but this pretty much, objectively, sums it all up, using as direct/comparable data as there possibly can ever be:

it does appear that messi's roughly 1.75x the player ronaldo is.

nah, idk if boring is the right word, but handing out such things has always been meh. and always will be. team sport, etc.

it sounds like you took the 100+ min commercial/vanity project/whatev it was ronaldo made of himself too seriously.

Dorfmerkingen is really not that far from my upbringing as well. And we'd be a major player with ~8k inhabitants in these things. **** me that I gotta work on my thesis all day, so all the posts are welcome.

Pummi, you're approaching Human Halo's level of borderline ******ation. It's fun when someone's straight up stupid or doesn't understand much about football, but you might be mildy ******ed and don't want to taunt people in such condition. I might put you on ignore as well in the near future, so don't bother busting up stats and stuff.

When does it pyramid? In England it only pyramids at the 6th tier. The top 5 are all pro for the most part although occasionally some part time sides play in the conference. Germany and England always surprise me with how much deeper professionalism goes than in other countries. It's just way higher than France, Italy, Spain where village teams with 3 men and a dog watching are often amazingly high up the ranks.

From the 4th tier down it is regional in Germany.

Often players will get paid by getting a job from a sponsor in the lower leagues. I knew people who made an ok living from playing Landesliga (6th division).

Germany is bigger so travelling is harder in fairness so it makes sense to go regional earlier.
