Sorry I am new to this forums and I didnt see that thread. But these documentary really hit me , beacuse I come from this part of Europe(Slovenia) and was born in former Yugoslavia . I have read some of the old posts in that thread about this documentary and it's really funny how that Croatian dude is blaming everything on the Serbs . Don't belive it , Croatian were just as cruel as Serbians.

let's leave it at that, ok? this is a sports forum, and not designed to have political discussion. if you want to go down that line, then please take it to the politics forum. thanks.

Bump for Fab Five show tomorrow night. Not technically a 30 for 30 but this is probably the best spot for it. Been looking forward to this for a while

I would respect the Fab5 more if they picked up a dead program, but they did win a nat'l two years earlier, which nobody seems to remember. Seems like their legendary status is largely based on baggy shorts.

But I have to admit they were interesting and I was a bit of a fan as a kid, as were lots of people I knew, which kinda puts a hole in the "America hated Miami football cause they were black" theory imo.

Baggy shorts, black socks + black shoes, trash talk, swagger... they represented a pretty huge culture change.

What exactly was different about their swagger compared to, say, Georgetown in the 80s? I'll give them baggy shorts

Right, or UNLV's swagger for that matter.

anyone see the UNLV one on HBO? I think it's new - 30/30 style show - just documented the basketball program from late 80s/early 90s.

basically miami football on the basketball court 5 years later

pretty good - never knew Larry Johnson was a legit 3 point shooter

Fab Five had the swagger and revolutionzed basketball culture style wise. The biggest story however was that they were 5 freshmen. It was un heard of to have 5 freshmen starting. This is when college basketball was still going very strong and guys were staying to their jr and senior years. You had some really good loaded veteran teams. And all of a sudden 5 freshmen come out of no where and get to two straight NCAA Title Games. The Fab Five were HUGE!
