I've heard it's done.
devin, diop, stack, two #1s (****) and cash for kidd.
Stack will likely be bought out, and can resign with the mavs in 30 days, provided no one else really wants him.

as I said in the NBA thread, they're overpaying by about a Devin Harris
at the very least they should be able to get this done without giving up Diop.

I don't get it. Harris has improved a lot, and while he probably still isn't as good as kid (82games seems to say his D stinks), he is certainly more efficient and is of course 10 years younger. Stackhouse is basically done and they'll probably get him anyway, but Diop is a useful part for Dallas and has value as an expiring contract.
Clearly a good deal for NJ, IMO, but smells like desperation by Dallas. Amazing how much cheaper Gasol was than Shaq or Kidd.

it could be kinda cool if Dal restructures their offense a bit. Right now, though, it's the most 1v1 oriented offense in the league, which Kidd blows at cuz he shoots the ball with his dick.. or at least that's what I gather when I look at his %s.

mavs main problems:
1. can't get open shots
2. injuries
kidd is going to get dirk wide open 15 footers all day long.
as crazy as it sounds, he is probably less injury prone than Devin.
It isn't a good trade for the mavs, especially in light of what the griz got for gasol....but I think it will end up making them better for the next 2-3 years.
