Gawker intentionally did what it did tho. It'd be more similar to the Andrews case if somebody hacked their servers and uploaded that video on there, thus exposing it to the world.

The Hogan suit amount is also completely ridiculous.

Gawker did indeed probably deserve to lose the suit and pay some damages, but the amount is once again a jury just seeking to really stick it to an unlikeable defendant.

I don't see how any reasonable person would think Hogan suffered 115 million worth of damages, either emotional or to his career.

Oh I agree, unlike the hotel, when didn't actively participate in any way, Gawker intentionally violated privacy, very egregiously when you factor in them defying court orders to continue to do so, thus forcing them to pay SOME damages seems legit. I just find the amount pretty absurd.
