I found this in some kind of British tabloid paper from 7/19:

Quote:
He continued also fourth degree Machiavellian dalliance, basic ersatz harlotry, collusive triangular trysting, and quasi pecksniffian slutiness.
http://www.thespoof.com/news/spoof.c...dline=s2i56669

Thats probably how a lot of these make the list - from newspaper stories.

That's why I was saying if you could cumulate these hits over like a 10 day window, it would filter all this random noise that is there each day. I think EA was like top 15 from 7/18 - 7/28 or so.

I'm fairly confident in my 2-5% estimate, or at least that it's a lot closer than 40%. We're talking about percentage that has *seen* the vids, not has heard about them. Naturally I expect that number to be quite a bit higher (albeit IMO still not approaching 40%).

Regardless, starting tomorrow I'm going to conduct my own research, asking as appropriate in conversations if other guys have heard of and/or seen it. Unless I walk around like some annoying street reporter it's gonna take awhile to get a decent sample size, but we'll see.

Incidentally, as an addendum to my "we overestimate the number of people who share the same interests as us" bit, I'll relay my Barry Bonds story which I had typed a day or two ago and scratched.

Around 1993, in fact probably that same year because it was Bonds' first with the Giants, he came into the grocery store I worked at during spring training. It was unmistakably the two-time reigning MVP: mustache, smirk, cross earring. Yet the seafood guy and I (produce guy) were evidently the only two employees that even recognized him as he walked the aisles. Nobody else knew who he was or what he looked like ("holy **** that's Barry Bonds!" "Who?"). And the people in the store weren't hardly burger-flipping chain-smoking transients; most made $10-12+/hr and were with the company for years. Classic middle-class second income types.

Naturally if you take a sample from a BALLPARK you are going to have a much larger percentage who know who he is (well I certainly hope so). However, drop him into a group of randoms and you're going to have a few pie-eyed people who whisper to each other but far more who have no idea - or care - who the celeb or athlete is. That's sort of what I'm figuring with Andrews as she is only marginally as visible as Barry Bonds.

2-5% seems right. Probably the lower end. It was not up very long. Finding it now requires being internet scavenger hunting literate. None of ~dozen friends who probably watch several sporting events per year have seen the video. A few heard about it, know who she is, but know they can access much clearer and explicit video of other hot chicks more easily. And these guys are your standard out of shape, computer literate college graduates who spend much of their day on computers.

This was the not enhanced version of barry then.

She was more visible in different ways in the video then Bonds was in the store I bet!

EDIT: Can't tell if you're making a joke or not, but please don't make this thread about Barry and steroids. Thanks.

How serious have I ever been around here?

Except to avoid being banned by clark.

On the other hand I was addressing your story, but don't worry the thread is safely staying on Ms. Andrews as far as I am concerned.

tuq's estimate is probably correct.

For the general population I would have to think that the percentage of people who even watch videos on the internet at all is lower than what many here might think it is...much less know how to access them when they aren't on espn.com or youtube or something.

Think about this angle too: So many people in this thread would think of the people who end up with a virus after trying to google for the video, "omg, what a moron. You suck at the internet." Yet a whole ton of people actually ended up with one of those viruses. Are they all total morons? They just aren't as good at the internet is all. And there are FAR more of them out there then people like you who know how to successfully navigate your way to safe version of the video. And it's not even close really.

Would a Skip Bayless naked peephole video have received 1 percent as much attention?

Yeah, I would prolly lower my guess some - I didn't realize finding the video and the whole virus thing was such a barrier.

I read one suggestion for EA to defuse the situation is to do a layout for Playboy.

That would show them.

I love how there's seemingly a gimmick account for every one who's even marginally in the public eye.

Just stop. I have edited the thread title to reflect earlier posts by admins lest they be missed: don't ask for links to the videos. Now that it is in the title there should be no excuses. Thanks.

the (do not ask for links) while needed is really fkn'ing lame, ruins thread titles

I agree but can't think of an efficient alternative. If it's not there someone who hasn't read the thread but sees the title will inevitably post "zomg ship the link to teh n00dz!", which itself is fairly annoying. Besides, I took it out of the UFC thread title after the last match was over.

The admins can certainly overrule this and I'd be fine with it. The policy is not my call.
