Already have it set up, just waiting for them to open, feel they won't open it until a week before the season kicks off though.

May as well start getting some numbers though now.

£20 as escrow will hopefully be done by mic_check but will have to wait until he's back.

Guess i'll get the ball rolling...

I just tried to read and understand all of the fantasy rules and good god the level to which I'll have no idea what i'm doing is remarkable. Should be fun!

You're probably over thinking it. Points for goals, assists, clean sheets, appearances. Lose points for yellows, reds, own goals, missed pens. 100m to spend on 15 players. A few silly wildcard type things and can do 1 free transfer per week.

Fanny pretty much solved it so it is couldnt be that hard

So we are doing a free thread one this year or is it paid?

In conclusion hilariously skewed and terrible data.

He doesn't include Ronaldo because he only played in EPL from 18 to early 24, similarly Bale not included. Giggs' peak seasons (at least in terms of goals) were 19-22 so he's out. Hazard's first two years are a no go.

There must be countless other cases.

In further conclusion lololololololololololololol

Walcott still a pretty good player tho, one that every top 5 team should love to have in the rotation if not nailed on starter. The hate he gets itt is just football hipstering
07-26-2017 , 07:39 AM
tbh, Walcott gets a much better deal ITT than he does in the fat bloke-laden pubs of the UK who were promised a world class English winger in 2006.
07-26-2017 , 07:40 AM
Yea Walcott has gotten a fair amount of unwarranted hate over the years but it's disingenuous to call him a 'wide player' in his peak years.
07-26-2017 , 07:41 AM
Yeah don't get me wrong I think Walcott is good enough but peak Walcott most productive winger in EPL history by far is a terrible take backed up by no meaningful data

Ye I wanted to call it fat-bloke-in-pubbing first, but I don't think the reason for Walcott hate itt is the same as from the actual fat blokes. Also think that he's better as a striker than wide.
07-26-2017 , 07:50 AM
Btw, is fat bloke in pub exclusively a 2p2 term/meme? If so, who came up with it?

baids I think

And yes, he's probably better up top than out wide, but he's also probably not good enough to start 30+ PL games up top for a top10 team
07-26-2017 , 08:23 AM
Pretty old meme tbh

07-26-2017 , 08:27 AM
self assured bloke in pub who talks like he knows everything/is privy to inside information but is actually just spouting cliched bollocks that he read in the sun this morning is a pretty common theme in british humour. eg

i may have added the fat part

Any of you guys betting on the Mayweather McGregor fight? Feels like I should be emptying my accounts on Mayweather at 1/6 but the whole thing is just such a circus. He's gotta be like 1/100 if not shorter to win this if there are no shenanigans and I don't want to miss out.
07-26-2017 , 10:35 AM
I've emptied the clip on Mayweather but can't help but think of that South Park episode with the Satan vs Jesus boxing match and Satan bets everything on Jesus to win and takes a dive
07-26-2017 , 10:36 AM
There's a big thread in sports betting. Consensus seems to be that, but tying lots of money up sucks and people are just unsure enough not to empty accounts on it.
07-26-2017 , 10:37 AM
Also if I bet on it I'll have to watch it, and **** staying up and paying for PPV just for the circus. Maypac was a huge disappointment.

If you don't already (and you're between the ages of 27 and 50) then check out Quickly Kevin Will He Score.

It's one of the funniest podcasts I've ever listened to and basically makes me remember all the good stuff about football from my childhood.
