Anyone know the law on this:

Mate of mine got let go from his job. The following month he still got his monthly pay paid into his bank account. I told him he'd be safer letting them know but he's ended up keeping it. I'm telling him he could end up In bother over it. Pay is due again on 25th of this month so we will see if it happens again.

What's the play here? Surely he can be taken up for some sort of fraud?

That's definitely illegal, but he doesn't seem too bright so it's possible he got some money in a separation agreement or whatever and didn't know about it.

In the USA it is common for employers to pay in arrears so that the last check can deduct anything owed back to the company.

Not sure if that is how it works over there, but the clear play is for him to invest half an hour trying to figure out his own **** rather than having you appeal to an internet thread for help.
