Why should it be depressing beating the team that everyone was raving about last week, even if it is the highlight of the season?

For me personally, working and living among Liverpool fans, it's one of the highlights of my football supporting life especially given the fact that it's the first time we've beaten them in a league game in my lifetime.

Depressing.

The highs and lows of being a football fan eh.

New Arsenal signings. Lots of potential.

I was surprised that Klopp played Klavan over Matip, who must have some sort of knock on him bc otherwise it doesn't make any sense. Especially against a team sitting deep. Obviously not saying that Matip would've won them the game but if they were getting no penetration, he could've done some of his dribbles which are big gambles but down 2-0 wtf does it matter

Klavan is just the conservative route

I think Matip is still not 100% after his preseason injury. He's back in training though, so would expect to see him soon.

West Ham 2.44 now, expect an absolute terrible team sheet.

It's almost as if Klopp isn't really as great as people think.

He was on the bench yesterday.

Anyway, off for dinner at the in-laws. If I don't post anything in the next couple of days send out the search parties, make sure they look under the patio.

Enjoy the obscurity.

Re: Matip. Yes, but don't think he's fully fit yet.

Sky need to have a camera on our director's box today, there's a good chance we get pumped and their faces are going to be priceless.

Lol at knocking TP for enjoying that win. Side tipped for relegation and they go and beat Plop for the first time in forever while he is at the game. Nothing depressing about it!

I congratulated him on the win, tbf. Useless snide remarks about our manager are idiotic, though, hence the depression remarks.

Edit: congratulated is probably a strong word, but said it was deserved.

The "snide remarks" are not really aimed the manager, more towards those who hail him as some sort of genius, when he was out thought by dinosaur Sean Dyche.

How we approached the game couldn't have been a surprise to him, unless of course he underestimated us and just expected to turn up and win, so it really shouldn't have been that hard for such a talented group of players to break down.

"Out thought" in this context means Dyche's team scoring a screamer within the first two minutes and then going all Mourinho.

Some expert out thinking going on there.

Your team played well and were disciplined but making this out to be about managerial prowess is utterly stupid.
08-21-2016 , 08:28 AM
Obviously tempting fate here, but that Sunderland midfield does not look strong.
08-21-2016 , 08:28 AM
Hardly a screamer. Won the ball by pressurising the defence into giving the ball away, then Vokes was given a clear shot by the accommodating centre backs. It was good finish, but not a difficult one.

And as I keep saying, any manager worth their salt, with that kind of attacking talent at their disposal, should be able to break down a packed defence. Klopp changed nothing, even after going another goal behind, despite it being obvious that what they were doing was never going to work.
08-21-2016 , 08:30 AM
He gives a damn good interview though, so there's that.
08-21-2016 , 08:34 AM
Hey he brought on Moreno
08-21-2016 , 08:37 AM
Putting Moreno on was a good change as it was clear Milner was giving Burnley way too much time by having to switch to his right on every possession. Putting Origi in to be stronger in the air was another good change.
Can't fault the manager for poor individual play.

Market wasn't too keen on Boro on team news. Think it's the Guzan factor.

Everyone I know who backed Sunderland in one way or another sighed a sigh of relief seeing Guzan in the starting XI, that's for sure.
08-21-2016 , 08:41 AM
Don't even know why we signed Guzan. Dimi is perfectly good backup for Valdes.
