He attempts many long passes to start counters.
And by "long" I don't mean midfield long, I mean box to box long.
The guy has 1 assist doing just that, lol at looking at Passing % without considering how Benfica plays.

I watched how MC play. They start attacks from the first third of the field, and rarely play long balls. And Moraes will have to play the same way.

He can pass sideways with ease, do not worry.
What I'm trlling you is that those stats also include his long balls that obviously have a much lower percentage of success.
Also, I don't see Sane or Gabriel refusing to run forward when Ederson launches the counters.
He can literally send the ball from one box to the other from a Goal Kick, with precision. This isn't something that Pep will just ignore.

This conversation is kinda weird. In the USA, we have playoffs so the regular season doesn't mean much except to qualify.

I always liked that the EPL had no playoffs, the regular season was everything. In this light, to me it seems like where you finish in the league table should make up a lion's share of the import in analyzing a club's season, with the other stuff coming into play only at the margins. For all the talk of "trophies," the only competitions where we see teams play their best squads every game are the league and the Champions League, excepting some rather silly stuff like Brendan Rogers or Mou's justifiable end-of-season strategies this year.

And to this rather unseasoned observer- I've only been paying attention for three years-- every competition outside of these two looks like a Mickey Mouse cup. I know the FA Cup has history, but few teams even bother to take it seriously by playing a first team squad until it gets very late in the competition. In this respect, it doesn't look much different to me than the League Cup, except the league cup is shorter and the quality of your opponents game by game is actually stronger since a lot of the crapbirds you draw in the 3rd round of the FA Cup are not there.

So yeah, these things are great when you get to the finals, but for the most part the quality teams that do just ran better wrt draw and their academy players not falling down anywhere along the line.

Finishing second in the league is stronger than winning any of the garbage outside of the Champions League. You can quibble among teams that finish close in the standing-- sure, a cup win is nice and the team deserves some credit for that, but to me it seems like people who value "trophies" are living in a past where teams really cared about stuff like that too. But they don't, as any cursory glance at how they treat these competitions shows.

Just my humble opinion, but when judging a team, use the measurement they value the most. League placement.

Why tf is the best game of the season at 3pm?

It's a public holiday in the UK.

lolUSA - I'd snap take 17th and an FA cup semifinal appearance (let alone winning for the 6th time) over the 8th place trophy all year, every year - and so would every other Baggies fan. And league position really doesn't matter much to the club provided it is better than 18th.

I get that looking back it's preferable but weighing the excitement of a cup semifinal appearance against the month long dread of relegation struggle (which you avoid by finishing 8th) is tough imo

Plus, if you're a fringe PL team, how giddy are you for a semifinal clash with a giant knowing you have very little chances to succeed?

look m8 just cause you're bitter about getting battered for the 8th place trophy doesn't mean you have to keep making excuses.

Fwiw, loads of Southampton fans are salty about finishing 8th, having finished 8th, 7th, 6th in respective reasons to the point that they want to boot the manger (****ing idiots). I and a few other fans are suitably impressed with a cup final, even though it was the mickey mouse cup and having a mediocre showing in the EL. It definitely adds something when you're a small team.

If you support a pulis team, just making it through a season without killing yourself is a pretty big win.

God damn. Even 5pm would have been difficult for me to follow.
I really love the championship playoffs and this is the first final I'll miss.

Someone Tell me 1-2 reasons why to Huddersfield and 1-2 reasons why to Reading and I will choose accordingly.
05-29-2017 , 09:41 AM
They don't pronounce the letter H in Huddersfield which makes it sound like the whole town is a place for cow's boobs.
