Zidane, Buffon (and others to inter) were massive transfers.

On big transfers, the fees are actually going down in regards to how much money is in the game.
Lentini from Torino to AC Milan was one that I always remember thinking was as big as it was going to get.
7 league goals later he crashed his car and was in a coma.

Coutinho is probably the most overrated player in the prem, and I like coutinho. His peak ability draws people in but he is not the least bit consistent and repeatedly does incredibly wasteful things. That's where someone like dele excels. You can't pinpoint any one skill or attribute that is truly exceptional but the combination of them and the intelligence make him top class.

Dele has gone missing a bit this season. I watch every single Spurs game but not every Liverpool game so I can't exactly give an advanced analysis on who I think has off games more often (and to the degree), but whenever I've watched plop I've been v impressed by Coutinho.

With the game on the line and you need a guy to score from 35 yards or waste half a minute by kicking it out of the stadium Coutinho is still your man

Yeah, this is how I feel. I mean, last summer we just needed a few squad players, and I think most Spurs fans felt there would be some regression this season. However, we have really kicked on and are nearly a really good team.

Which leaves is in a bit of a quandary. To definitely improve, we really need to be signing top-tier players, but obviously this won't happen.

However, we are a great destination for any top young talent, and especially those who might be struggling to get a game at the super-rich clubs. I think if we could get players like Iheanacho, Loftus-Cheek or maybe even Rashford/Martial then that's probably our best strategy.

Easier said than done though. Iheanacho's agent has already said City won't sell him to Spurs, but I guess if they want Walker or Rose for example, then we should really insist on him coming the other way.

When Coutinho takes on a good form he's unstoppable. However, he lacks stability and it takes quite a long time to get in shape. As an example, an ankle injury this season, after which he took a long time to peak form.

This is a good strategy, as the example of Borussia D (Bundesliga Champions 2010–11, 2011–12, German Cup winners 2011–12). Having a competent coach who knows how to work with young players, you can achieve success.

trying to do a Leicester. I like it.

It has been a long season, the lads need to unwind.

I'm sure that a trip to the other side of the world to play a friendly for a few extra dollars is exactly what the plop squad fancy at the end of the season.

Here's the squad btw.

Spurs are doing something similar I believe.
05-23-2017 , 06:15 AM
wtf are slippy, Agger, Macca & Carragher doing in there?
05-23-2017 , 06:20 AM
Needed some players who had actually won something I think
05-23-2017 , 06:25 AM
I think you'll find this squad won the league back in November.

I'm looking forward to seeing Hansen replace Lovren next season.

Declan Rice (who played a full FOUR minutes for West Ham on Sunday) has been called into the Ireland squad for the next round of internationals.

Has he ever played anywhere else/been out on loan?

This is even more mental than Theo Walcott > Jermain Defoe in 2006?

No, that is his only appearance in football for big boys. Ireland are effectively branding him as their own to prevent England taking him if he turns into something, as far as I can see. I have no idea how strong Ireland are in that position, if there is nobody else it might be justified. The Irish have a terrible record at West Ham, they have tended to underwhelm. We let Ray Houghton go as he wasn't good enough, so it is probably or fault.
