Yea pretty ****ty comment. Anyway all this debate is turning my brain to mush due to the unscientific nature of politics (and economics). Let's stop talking and all help build an AI to save our limited species. Although I suspect funding cuts.

Edit: carry on, I actually don't mind the talk.

if i had realised how much this out result was gonna upset germans i woulda had to strongly consider changing my vote

Don't mean to single you out, I know a bunch of people who think like this and my opinion of them isn't tainted. Maybe it's the responsibility of educated people to not label them stupid and use their perceived superiority to help them?

I'm as guilty of it as you are from time to time.

Yeah this "elitism" from the left is a problem for sure. I usually know better.

Anyway that's the last I'll say about this topic

yeah, i do wonder what exactly the remain camp think they're trying to achieve with that kind of line of thought. listen to the experts guys, they didn't call the financial crash, thought joining the euro would be +EV and were letting us back remain at 1.06 as the polls closed, but the experts! you'll be carting round your worthless english pounds in wheelbarrows setting them on fire! you don't want that do you?

I'm just glad all the foreigners will leave and we can go back to playing four four ****ing two

The Willie Frazer video doing the rounds is amazing.

Maybe this is simplistic but a minor passing thought last night - if you're educated and voted tory last year but also think a referendum is aids, then surely there is a logic fail there somewhere? So maybe not as clever as they think they are considering unknown implications of a leave result.

well, maybe there is if you live in the ~5% of the country where things are close enough in a general election for your vote to matter

And this lol of course.

I either get it or I really don't get it.

My MP was leave, our constituency has been tory since the first world war, bunch of olds in our area but ended up remain.
06-25-2016 , 07:27 AM
People weren't voting Tory because they wanted a euro referendum were they? They were doing so for established reasons such as LOL Miliband.

Just fine for you to write off independence yes voters as plebs. Conviently ignored when I called you out on it.

Course but referendum was promise of Cameron should they gain majority. So is it a question of lesser aids and how far in the future can you realistically imagine?

Anyway I fell into the trap of talking about it (with no results but mental torture) when there's probably loads of things to consider, loads of things wrong, I hope some people somewhere are seriously trying to figure it out and not try and be famous and there's football in an hour and a half.

As it was for more than one Labour government since 97, so it's not unreasonable for people to vote Tory and assume that they'll just maintain the political gravy train status quo

Yeah I think that is just being mega results-orientated.

Upto 10pm on Thursday night absolutely nobody thought we'd actually leave so voting Labour instead in 2015 on that basis wouldn't have made sense.
06-25-2016 , 08:07 AM
You dragged me back in.

Maybe. I guess there would have been polling at the time regarding EU membership therefore you could try and make judgements on risk. Also brings me back to my original point. We can complain about lack of education, lies and misinformation causing the result, but if no one predicted this up until 10pm on Thursday (I was fist pumping victory btw), then the supposed well educated have absolutely failed in their basic duty of attempting to understand the perspective of the other side (and how many of them there were) at any point since forever - an absolutely vital piece of information you would think, right?!

So basically everyone misinformed, young blaming old, educated blaming uneducated, graph here, graph there, a few squiggly lines, blah blah blah

Yes!
06-25-2016 , 08:13 AM
Don't have a strong opinion on the vote although I suspect there is more misinformation on the exit side but one thing is for sure : the entertainment you get on Facebook between the so-called intellectuals calling half the population racist/stupid and the other half offended to be called racist/stupid is priceless and may be worth the £350M alone
06-25-2016 , 08:16 AM
so if scotland can just have another referendum why can't britain just have another one in like a year too?
06-25-2016 , 08:19 AM
because farage&co would literally organise a civil war
