haven't heard this myself but laughable if true. from the limited times I have seen both players they are nothing a like. wilshere seems more of a gerrard type of player, hard working etc etc, not the type of playmaker that Pirlo has been this tourney.

Wilshere will most likely experience a lot more growing pains fighting to first return to form while continuing his natural development as a football player.

only here have i seen Wilshere described as the best English MF'er, i haven't had time to keep up with the mouthbreathing English press.

Stylistically, Wilshere has more in common with Xavi than Pirlo. NOTE: obviously NOT comparing him to those two other than that he's a much more metronomic player than a fantasist.

Wilshere is much more vertical in his dribblings and way way way more limited in his passing range and tactical sophistication, so more like a crappy Thiago Alcantara.

Really? Thiago's best claim to fame in his whole career so far is being the second best player on an U21 Euro squad. Thiago might be a great player, but he contributed slightly more then Wilshere last campaign.

I mean, Barcafan can't really hate on Wilshere when he outplayed everyone in the GOAT MF in at least the game at the emirates, while Thiago probably wasn't even on the bench the last time we played in the CL.
