The NBA isn't just going to oust an owner no one is up n arms about, that isn't how the politics of these things works. But it gets put up on TMZ and becomes national news and suddenly people like my mom who can name about 3 NBA players and no owners obviously are shocked. I think people just wish there was more political outrage over racially discriminatory actions that materially hurt people's lives. The fact that these scandals are always about language has, not surprisingly, led to a situation where racists in positions of power, like Donald Sterling, feel free to discriminate against minorities for decades as long as they don't get caught using certain words.
