Re: Cycling 2012 Thread | Giro d'Italia - Tour de France - Vuelta a Espana

The weather is terrible in Wales this morning . Heavy rain , strong gusty winds.
Showers forecast for the London region this afternoon.
Might well affect the men's indv. time trial.

Took me a while to get it , even after using Google.

Serious bragging rights and Undertitle for sure

Nicolas Roche confirmed going to Saxo Bank next season.

Looks like Saxo can get a pretty good team next year. Contador will definitely get all the support he needs in next years Tour.

How much does TDF form carry over to Vuelta? VDB looks a big price at 40 but I'm worried about fatigue. Froome looks short considering the tough season he's had.

Apparently Mark Cavendish is going to announce he's leaving Team Sky soon.

Top form usually doesn't carry over from the Giro to the Tour, I assume it's similar for Tour -> Vuelta.

Re: Cycling 2012 Thread | Giro d'Italia - Tour de France - Vuelta a Espana

It's extremely difficult to be in top form for 2 GT's in a row. The Vuelta starts less than a month after the Tour ended, so VdB and Froome should by all logic still be very tired from the Tour when the Vuelta starts.

Then again Sky have done a lot of things this year that aren't humanly possible, so Froome will probably be in top shape.

Froome has had an easier season than any other member of Skys TDF team, he had a full month off the bike with illness when they were training/racing, Richie Porte is likely to be the most fatigued of the lot of them.
