How does one quit curling? You get a 80 hr a week job or have a child or something?

Diagnosed with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, which explained the shortness of breath and near fainting spells after hard sweeps.

My doctor advised against strenuous physical activity since it can cause me to... die. One of the least favorite things I have ever had to do was give up the game because it's amazing. I still volunteer at the rink and help with Spiels and such but until such time that I have surgery, it's out of my possible range. (Maybe ever after, i hear heart surgery can do a real number on some people)

I didn't know whether to bump this thread or the Shustahhh thread for the Brier. Anyway, it's started and it features probably 5 of the top 10 teams in the world. Top notch quality curling.

Northern Ontario is Jacobs, they won gold in Sochi. NB is New Brunswick, no idea who they are- usually not a strong curling province
