One thing i must commend the Aussies for, is for producing Shane Warne, the guy is just box office. He's easily my fav cricket commentator along with Atherton. After the ashes i hope he makes a comeback as captain of a new oz for a couple of years, he should try to get to muralis record, he can do it, no doubt.

I heard he was voted greatest living Australian, can any Aussie on here name a better in their history?

Never seen that before
I dont think this is the right call. Hypothetically if England were out of referrals at that stage, can the umpire refer for them? Its quite sketchy that hey, we can check the camera's anyway even if you dont refer, which IMO is the point.

UDRS isnt right as it is. If they want to use technology, and the umpires are going to have the chance to check things like no balls just have the 3rd umpire look at it, and radio the central umpire if its a freaking no ball. Let the main umpire watch the play, and maybe we will see better LBW decisions from 140kph bowlers.

Yes.

Its weird, because they can advertise sports betting websites such as centrebet and sportsbet for betting for money, but they cant advertise PokerStars.com or anything like that, only the .net

Its funny because when we get coverage of the darts/championship football etc... we sometimes get the first and last advertisements for bet365 and those kind of sites lol...

Interestingly, Pokerstars.net sponsor some of the ****y league junior teams around here and I think Full Tilt do as well...

UDRS: I reckon I've made my thoughts on the whole UDRS quite clear itt. It's a good idea, but like everything the ICC does, the implementation has been bodged. As far as I'm concerned, what happened there is exactly what should happen if tv is going to be used; the umpires use it as they see fit, without ANY interventions/appeals from the players whatsoever.

iPoker: IIRC, some guy from your government wanted to put a bill through with his own personal blacklist of a whole bunch of internet stuff that he disapproved of for moral reasons, and that it was going to include the poker sites. Didn't realise you had advertising restrictions too. Hope they don't introduce such restrictions over here; between them, the thought police and the fun police already have enough influence here iyam, we certainly don't need to give them more ammunition.

Well played Trott, guy is a Zen master.

Barmy Army chanting 'He's got more runs than you!' Epic Epic Win!

Another pretty awesome day Trott is turning out to be a very impressive test player.

About the Prior "wicket", I'm fairly sure umpires have been allowed to ask the 3rd umpire about no balls on wicket taking deliveries for a couple of years now and it's been available in some series when UDRS has not.

Ya, this. There are certain elements the umpires are encouraged to seek tv confirmation on and this is one of them.

Concerning Trott, I've probably mentioned my mancrush on him a few too many times.

Not sure I've gone that far yet, but he has grown on me. I used to think he was a poor man's Kallis - ie totally focused on his own game like it's a net session, without ever adapting to what the team need. I actually liked how he was the first one to get stuck in against Pakistan, he just seemed like more of a team man. Now he looks like a superb player.

Re Ponting, he should have got a one match ban. He must be the biggest little bi.tch of a captain out there. Previously, I gave Smith the mantle after he moaned like a schoolgirl when Strauss wouldn't give him a runner for being tired.

Re: Ponting - ICC fail

Bunch of pussies imo. Fining him A$5400 is like fining me a tenner. Basically he won't notice it. The guy is worth millions. And he's got such a long record of previous infractions too; they really should have given him a one match ban. Missing the Sydney Test (if he isn't dropped anyway) would hurt him far more.
