Ok would who win? ;

A team consisting of some of the best county players, but they're only allowed to use baseball bats and only their batters (not all rounders) are allowed to bowl

or

A team consisting of 11 random guys who have never played on at least a semi pro level but nevertheless enjoy cricket and also have Andrew Flintoff in their team ((can use cricket bats)(Flintoff is very drunk as he regards the game a pisstake))

So in answer to your question it's not close, the pros win.

It would be closer if you was to put say the top players in world with baseball bats vs the best non pro (no county) cricket players with cricket bats.
I mean, even I had a shaved off bat for practice (basically the bat is ever so slightly wider than the handle/splice) and was still able to play something resembling shots vs most bowling I faced. Pros destroy it

In the second scenario I still take the county players. Unless all the batsman are Inzamam Ul-Haq types. Apparently Matthew Hayden could bowl at 130+ and I know a few other Australian batsman can as well, I am sure the same applies at county level where up until 16 or 17 most kids did do both disciplines of the game.

Best question would be whether a team of all star former players who are now commentators could win (since the vast majority of commentators are batsman as opposed to bowlers).

There bowling would of course be absolutely ****e at 45-50 years old and extra runs in the field would be simple.

Make the commentators play in suits for added competition.

Warne, and to a lesser extent Tufnell and Swann, say "hello".

Although I would be intruiged to see what Holding and Bishop could produce now. & I guess Botham could still turn his arm over.

Well, we got well and truly stuffed. What options do England have? I thought before that they get get rid of Balance, bring Foakes in so that Bairstow could just focus on batting. He's kept really well though. It's a horrible top three at the moment though, with Wood and Dawson vulnerable as well.

Time to bring back Trott and Collingwood although Trott will have a hard time facing Starc again and will probably retire yet again. But seriously Ballance's stats in County cricket have been pretty good so far but can't translate that form into test cricket.

It is a shame for you poms that Sangakkara can't play a couple of cameos for you to show you blokes how to bat with the way that he is going in County cricket this season so far.

I think Ballance will likely always score bucket loads of runs in county cricket but his technique won't cut it in test match cricket against bowlers who bowl a swinging 85+mph ball.

Jennings not knowing where his off stump is also a concern, but probably deserves to play the rest of the series.

I think next in line for the opening spot with cook is stoneman from surrey, but there really isn't anyone obvious to come in for ballance.

Dan Lawrence from essex is a quality young player with some lions success but it would involve a shake up with Root coming in at 3 Lawrence 4 and Bairstow 5

That was a fantastic finish. Seemed like India had it in the bag until the last few overs.

That was a fun tournament. Not too often you get to say England are World Cup champions.
