7 odis is so awful. This is pretty pitiful series too, only 2 tests. And seems like ind/aus played too often recently.

Aus 428 v Ind 405 going into second innings tomorrow.
5 to Johnson, he really saved the day.

India in a real good position now to win.

Would be nice after Australia's negative first innings.

This tour is a joke though, 2 test tours should never happen between 2 top teams..

agreed on two tests....

Why sri lanka only ever get two test in aus is beyond me, especially when teams like pakistan and WI get 3....

its all $$$$, when india went to no.1 test nation they suddenly decided that test cricket was important and that they needed a big series so they randomely added an australia home series to the schedule.

tendulkar the key now for india. Don;t normally cheer for australia but the indian team is full of dicks, so gl aus. Also never wish injury on any player but there has to be a chance that there'll be a couple of injuries before the ashes with this and the home odis against sri lanka for australia, which will be good for the english.

i see ponting and clarke getting out to short balls today, as if broad needs any encouragement to bowl short

obv its cash, but the sri lankan pop is around the same as the paki one, and its easier to advertise a contest then a crushing imo

I don't think India are in a great position to win, with 4 wickets down it's anyones game.
Todays umpiring was absolutely terrible, some of the worst I've seen, just yesterday I was praising Billy Bowden as the best in the game. Why are there no referrals in this series.
Also I completely agree 2 game test series are awful, it's gotta be 3 or 5.
Dismal performance from Clarke and Hussey this game, really want to see Clarke find some form before the Ashes.

The referral system was about the one thing that went well in the Eng V Pak series (even Agnew couldn't grumble about it). I thought it was now to be used in all Tests (?) or maybe that's from a future date.

I agree with those who root against India. They used to be one of my fave teams but they have so many spilt brats now playing for them I hope they cop a good beating.

Sri Lanka play India 25 times a year, not much room on their schedule really. Also the whole Murali chucker thing probably leaves a bad taste.

India are probably huge dogs tonight, although I guess they have a better chance to actually win than they had yesterday, fwiw. I was just laughing during that Ishant over, just surreal. This guy had been terrible but then gets like the most random two wickets ever followed by that no ball, then comes back and delivers that nasty bouncer.

to be fair to Hussey he got beat by a good reverse swinging delivery from Zaheer in the first innings and got a horrible decision in the second. Clarke has struggled pretty badly since he was promoted to 4 as well, and Marcus North is a walking wicket at this point. If KP can somehow regain his form the Ashes should be quite close imo.

I made my comment before the 4 wickets fell

Match is now probably 65-35 Australia. We need atleast 70 runs from this partnership then the match will tilt in our favor. On the other hand if we lose 2 wickets in the first session tomorrow we're done.

Gambhir's decision was one of the worst I've seen in years. Big inside edge and the ball wasn't even close to hitting the stumps in the first place.

Match has really gotten interesting. India need 40 Aussies need 2 wickets.

India Australia have had some really classic test matches in the last decade.

I really don't like Laxman taking a single off the first ball of every over and having Ishant face the majority of the deliveries.

That was a fascinating match. Laxman getting stuck in Ojha was pretty funny.

Two lbws went the wrong way... one each so its fair to an extent.

Part of me wishes that India's geriatrics would just hurry up and retire and stop playing awesome innings vs us...

Amazing match for sure. Australia brings out the best out of a bunch of the old guard, Laxman, Harbhajan etc..

Ojha was ******ed for ball watching there and not taking a clear single off the 5th ball, almost cost us the match. Having a runner in the mix didn't help things either.

lol he gave some shocking decisions against India too.

If he was cheating then he had a huge bet on a tie methinks..

I too would rate Bowden amongst the best for Umpiring.

Hopefully it was a freak off day and nothing more.

In before Ijaz Butt (sp) claims otherwise

I heard from bookies that Bowden was paid BIG MONEY for making such bad decisions. All bookies are talking about it. You saw the mistakes?

Wow, what a game. Hope this helps show a few Indians that a close Test match is 100 times better than any 20/20 match.
