He gave it remarkably quickly too, I've seen them take longer on clear edges..

I can only assume the 3rd umpire got to see a side-on hotspot shot which we didn't.
In the normal slowmo replay, there's a clear visible deflection as the ball passes the bat. Don't look on snicko cam, there was far too much movement for that to provide conclusive evidence but if you look at the normal pictures, the ball clearly deviates slightly in its path as it passes the bat, which is probably the evidence on which the 3rd umpire gave it.

They've only showed the side-on hotspot shot once on Sky and Cook looked to be mostly in the way. I thought I might have seen a small mark but can't be sure if it was contact made by the ball.

Not conclusive enough to overturn an umpire's decision. And I've watched all ~20 replays they've shown. Doubt anyone's changing my mind on that.

Edit: Never mind conclusive, I couldn't really see a deviation at all.

Well maybe not iyo but imo there was a clear edge/deflection/change in path of ball.

And the 3rd umpire is only one person and he'll either agree with you or me.

Swan spins the ball a lot. Very hard from that angle to distinguish a deflection from just a weird bounce of the pitch. Also the ball seems to miss the bat by a few inches.

Virtually everyone who has seen the 20+ replays will disagree with the bold part of your post. I can see how people believe that he didn't hit it and that there might not be conclusive evidence to overturn the decision but the ball most certainly did not miss the bat by a few inches.

As much as I'm supporting England and how great 4-0 would be, I'd just love to be there for Sachin's 100th 100, one time?

Do you think Sachin would want his 100'th '100' in this series?.

lol @ Warne on Buchanan

Telling how the cricket bags used to go by train in 60 degrees and they would put fish/lobster in his bag. How there would be apologies and wonderment at how people could do such silly unpleasant things

Then added

"Gee and why would they do it to you"

Glad Sachin didn't get his 100 in this horrible series for India. But damn, what a pathetic series for Raina. No idea why he wasn't playing his natural game. Kirsten would've told him to...
