In the normal slowmo replay, there's a clear visible deflection as the ball passes the bat. Don't look on snicko cam, there was far too much movement for that to provide conclusive evidence but if you look at the normal pictures, the ball clearly deviates slightly in its path as it passes the bat, which is probably the evidence on which the 3rd umpire gave it.
They've only showed the side-on hotspot shot once on Sky and Cook looked to be mostly in the way. I thought I might have seen a small mark but can't be sure if it was contact made by the ball.
