hmm just got home to see the last few balls of this T20, Brett Lee isn't the worst guy to come in at #11 when you need 14 off 4

Collapsed from 71-0, thanks in no small part by a stunning piece of fielding by Angelo Matthews for the second wicket. I suggest you go on to YouTube and search for "Angelo Matthews - Mahela catch".

3rd test currently still going ahead and they seem pretty confident about that.

I live in Birmingham and the 'disturbances' (i.e. looting & violence) were in the city centre and north of that, whereas the ground is to the south (of the city centre). Problems were in the early evening & overnight (so after the time that a days play will usually have finished).

However, I suppose there's got to at least be some possibility that if the problems escalate overnight and the next day or two that it might get called off.

I guess the question is partly about police resources though in the area and they must be pretty stretched?

Man I tell you, if the cricket gets called off I'll be really pissed. Call in the SAS I say and get behind hoodies lines!

It started off piggybanking a protest about a drug dealer who was shot by the police (he had a gun I think but didn't fire first). Since then though it's just rioting for rioting sake, with plenty of looting. Even Poundland got looted.

Yeah, I couldn't care less about the football being called off, but there will be trouble if the Test match gets canned. It's still going ahead according to cricinfo

Anyone who dares to consider disrupting our test match should rememember how long it took George Davis to get acquitted.

The match has been given the all clear to go ahead.

If the weather forecast is right there'll be a fair few interruptions over the course of the match. It's overcast at the moment - so I'd suggest it's a good day to win the toss and bowl first (granted I haven't inspectesd the pitch ldo).

I like the fact that we lost the toss and are batting even though it could mean we get rattled out for 150 odd..

We need to win and the best way to do is to bat first and make 400..

Yea couldn't really expect much from Viru.

No matches for 3 months, and not much practice either due to what's been happening. Really good first ball too.

What percentage of pubs in England would you say show test matches?

As long as they have a Sky dish then on a weekday afternoon you could probably could watch the shopping channel if you asked the landlord nicely.
