Yeah I know, but I couldn't find numbers for just football. However, given the size of the other numbers and the size of football teams, it can't possibly be true. LSU only paid Western Kentucky $900,000 for their game last season.

And that's enough to pay almost the entire coaching staff.

I never count tuition in the cost the way schools do, because adding a few extra kids to a lecture class costs essentially nothing. Books, food, travel expenses; count all those. But not tuition.

Athletic departments pay schools for the tuition of their scholarship athletes, why wouldn't you include it in the calculation?

Their coach makes $613,000 per year, plus he earned $100,000 in bonuses. When you figure in benefits, the $900,000 barely covers him.

His coaching staff makes another $1,054,792 plus benefits.

Because it's not an actual "cost" of having athletics. There's no real out of pocket expense to the school.
