I meant the entire football program, not the entire athletic department.

Yeah I know, but I couldn't find numbers for just football. However, given the size of the other numbers and the size of football teams, it can't possibly be true. LSU only paid Western Kentucky $900,000 for their game last season.

And that's enough to pay almost the entire coaching staff.

I never count tuition in the cost the way schools do, because adding a few extra kids to a lecture class costs essentially nothing. Books, food, travel expenses; count all those. But not tuition.

Athletic departments pay schools for the tuition of their scholarship athletes, why wouldn't you include it in the calculation?

Their coach makes $613,000 per year, plus he earned $100,000 in bonuses. When you figure in benefits, the $900,000 barely covers him.

His coaching staff makes another $1,054,792 plus benefits.

some people have friends in big government and others do not. I wonder if they would intervene if one of the too big to fail schools got the death penalty.

Because it's not an actual "cost" of having athletics. There's no real out of pocket expense to the school.

I hope that Hugh Freeze now feels that in order to stay competitive he has to do satellite camps in Fargo, Billings, Pocatello, Detroit and Juneau.

04-28-2016 , 11:28 PM
Ole Mi$$ riding dirty would be the least surprising "secret" that could possibly be revealed in the SEC.

NCAA setting up satellite camps in Mississippi as we speak
04-28-2016 , 11:56 PM
Just a reminder that Freeze was one of the sanctimonious pricks arguing that we couldn't have satellite camps because he needed time with his family.

@DanWetzel:
Ole Miss AD: Ah, Coach Freeze, need to see you in the office tomorrow.
Coach Freeze: Can't, I'll be out running a satellite camp.

No one is that good at recruiting that goddamn fast (from the 7th most storied SEC program!) without crap that would make Jerry Tarkanian roll in his grave.
04-29-2016 , 12:47 AM
The SEC cheating?
04-29-2016 , 12:56 AM
I am shocked, SHOCKED that Ole Miss players were getting paid

who could have imagined such a thing? You're telling me ****hole rural Mississippi ISN'T where all the cool, hip young kids want to be these days?
