And to all the people who defend Cowherd, Bayless, etc. on the basis that they're just playing a character in order to get ratings, and that their obnoxious, kneejerk contrarian, douchebag ignoramus act isn't really who they are or what they believe...what difference does it make? It's okay to be a cantankerous misanthrope who spouts moronic and deliberately divisive opinions with the most forceful conviction they can muster, as long as they're truly insincere about it underneath? Why?

The best thing about Colin is he talks way way more CFB than most other national radio hosts.

The link you quoted was a joke, obv. Rome sucks and his show sucks. The only debate is who is the worst between Cowherd, Rome, and Stephen A.

I fall asleep to Smith most nights. He's ok, I get the impression he's a good guy, and he's goofy, but he can be really really dumb at times.

Bob Valvano, who does ESPN late night overnight, is ****ing awesome.

I think CC is hit and miss - with mostly misses, but comes up with some decent points/angles sometimes. It's like I wouldn't make a point to tune him in or out. Actually, I think the above analogy is pretty good - I don't find LJ all that entertaining to watch.

I want to lower my opinion some of CC since I ended this thread with a little praise for him.

After listening some to him the past couple weeks, his lack of logic is just ridiculous. His show is to come up with crazy hypothesis, which is fine, but then use ridiculous arguments to prove your theory.

His latest: "Many people said they are sick of hearing about Brett Farve. I claim they lie. You want proof? Brett Farve's jersey is the number one selling jersey in NFL in 2009 merchandise sales. Therefore, most people really love the guy."

I started listening to CC last summer when I had a decent commute and a friend said he was good.

He deservedly gets skewered by the experts in SE, as it's clear his demographic is the casual fan. Honestly I probably wouldn't notice this on my own were it not for his lolbad opinions of the NBA during this year's playoffs. I still listen to him here and there but certainly take his opinions with a crack rock-sized grain of salt. Also, seeing him on TV for the first time was a bit of a disappointment. I expected some big burly ex-lineman kind of guy, not some wimpy silver-haired dude.

My local sports radio switched from ESPN to Fox.

I get Czaban in the morning, and he's ok when talking about sports, but a total ****tard when he steps out of that realm. Gives me the vibe that he's actually a horrible person who sport ****s puppies but somehow manages to seem ok on the radio.

I get JT the Brick at night- who I HATE HATE HATED like 10 years ago when KJR had him synidcated on overnights. He's actually more tolerable now, but still mostly terrible.

I'm shocked to see you say this. He's up there amongst worst sports talk guys around for me. Just another ESPN talking head that knows absolutely nothing about sports but pretends that he does.

I like CC. I find him entertaining and enjoy his non sports views. I don't know dick about the NFL or CF so I just zone out during those parts and yeah, his NBA knowledge sucks but at least he sets his head down and plows through when debating something. Even ignorant statements from him amuse me.

Oh, CC have a somewhat interesting topic yesterday that was only tangentially sports-related.

Some vendor to Notre Dame was accidentally tipped $29K instead of $29. If the tip was only supposed to be $29 then I can imagine the actual invoice only ran in the $200-500 range, max. But she deposited the check and proceeded to spend it all on various things such as a new car. When the university realized their error they asked for her money back but she essentially claimed "minesies" and said she did make a phone call to them (1) but didn't hear back so assumed it was hers to keep.

Although being self-righteous is generally annoying to me, in this case I had his back. He said before he disclosed his opinion he would ask random callers theirs first, because (paraphrasing) if he gives his opinion first that will sway the opinion of the callers. The self-importance there made me lol for some reason. Anyway, a couple of people played the "finders keepers" card after which he essentially told them they were idiots with no moral compass whatsoever and she clearly knew better and was taking advantage of the situation. Had to agree with him on all of this. The people who think it's her right to keep the money are not the type I want finding my wallet when I lose it.

I tolerate Cowherd. I usually switch between him, Rome, local sports talk, or FM radio. It pretty much depends on what each is talking about. Like if the other two are talking College football, and CowHERD is talking NFL then I'm listening to CowHERD.

But yeah, he can be extremely annoying. I'm pretty sure a couple weeks ago when he went thought the NFL and gave his W-L predictions, when it was all said and done he had the league playing .600 ball against itself. ****ing donk.

But he's a gigantic tool.

For example, he constantly talks about how busy he is. There's a segment at least once a week built around this premise. One time he was talking - for like 45 minutes - about how he couldn't play fantasy football because he doesn't have time.

Another time, he was talking about options to get quick haircuts because he didn't have time. But he didn't want a military cut. He wanted to have professional looking hair with like a 30 min hair cut. Dude, you're on TV, get a ****ing hair cut.

Also, examples of him being an ******* (especially the Sean Taylor thing)

It always irritates me to no end when he's talking about women. He had something one day that went (summing up):

"In college there are a bunch of elite receivers and beautiful co-eds. Where do they all go?"

Huh? The first part is a completely wrong observation about elite receivers. (He could only name Calvin Johnson, Larry Fitzgerald, and, two years ago, Steve Smith. He also thought if you were elite in college in any other position it translated into the NFL).

The co-ed thing is WTF? Dude, you're talking about like 19 year old girls. You're a 45 year old douchebag who seriously contemplates cutting his hair with a FlowBee. Stop being a creep.
