The method of enforcement is certainly open to analysis. But the reaction is almost totally results-oriented. Would there have been any criticism of Rivera if Anderson had driven them for a touchdown?

Well in this case the results are drawing attention to what is otherwise a stupid rule and enforcement action. So sure it probably doesn't get talked about if he doesn't throw a pick, but it's still exceptionally stupid dogma.

If I was a Panthers fan I'd be pissed. If they had Cam play just one more play in that game I don't see how they could have lost.

If Cam wouldn't have been suspended they could have had a QB completing 55% of his passes this year instead of some back up who has only completed 68% of his. How can you bench a stud like Cam?

In order for a fumble/down by contact to get overturned, you'd need clear evidence that there's a fumble AND clear evidence of a recovery. Because of the scrum, it's essentially impossible to get the latter.

The Colts then ran a slowly developing screen on 4th and 1 from midfield down 5 with a minute thirty left and no timeouts essentially taking the ball out of the hands of Luck and relying on the play call alone to get it done instead of just handing the damn ball off to get one stinking yard. COLTS FOOTBALL! GO HORSE!

The screen call was unbelievable. I don't think I've ever seen that on 4th down, especially not 4th and short.

that play ends any chance we had for the playoffs this year, and hopefully ends one or both of Grigson and Pagano's time with the colts.

that was a strange sequence, all hilton had to do on 3rd down was back peddle a step but didn't, then whatever the hell that call was, but the play actually worked, luck missed that throw (partially b/c of how ridic that was for a situational call). (if I remember right, I would've audibled into LG inside run since only one defender was in that area, of course that's if he could)
