They need 3 scores. I can see why you would want to go for it, but I can see why the coach didn't. It's a bit of a stretch to call his decision obviously stupid.

Mike Nolan just challenged a made field goal, apparently because the ball went over one of the uprights on its way through. The rules say that you can't challenge a field goal on that basis, but he didn't know that, and apparently neither did the referee who reviewd the play and it cost the 49ers their last challenge and a timeout. Sigh...

I was pretty pissed about this only because it wasn't 4th and 11ish or less.

We did it against A&M... twice. 1st attempt had an offsides and we ran it again.

I know it doesn't make much of a difference, but wtf is with the Pats not even trying an onside kick after their TD?

Sure it would take a miracle, but why not at least try?
Onside kicks don't have that high of an injury rate (especially since the balanced kickoff rule change) and even if they were worried about getting someone hurt then what are they doing calling timeout at the end?

It almost seemed like Belichik was too proud to put his team in position of desperation, even if the game called for it.

People just want to discuss coaching decisions. Even if they aren't "Obviously Stupid" like the thread title says, this is still clearly the best place in the forum to bring them up. Nothing Embarrassing about it at all.
