loved this comment on an espn article:

I guess that means Carmelo Anthony is better than Lonzo Ball. After all, 'melo won a Champoinship with McNamara, Forth, and Gorman on the team.

Seemingly forgetting that Fox dropped 39 on Ball and the "white guys" scored almost all of UCLA's points where Ball had 10 and 4 turnovers
Don't worry, it's all good. He backtracked and blamed his son for the loss.

Although if he's actually a racist maybe he only blames the white part of his son.

It's gonna be really funny when Liangelo can't get off the bench next year.

I am simultaneously sick of Lavar Ball, and can't wait to hear what he says about Liangelo next year

I'm legitimately curious to see how much Lavar can F with an NBA team's chemistry and internal issues. So far I can't really stand the guy but it's probably going to be pretty damn funny watching him spew this nonsense and try to influence things way too much on a subpar NBA team.

This is pretty much where I stand on Lavar. Dude is a character, but he's clearly crossed the line a couple of times (already).
For Lonzos sake, I hope he gets to play somewhere in the East.

I don't think much of media interactions influencing a team, but Lavar seems flat out crazy and willing to throw everyone under the bus. It will rightfully influence his draft stock and I could see him dropping out of the top 5. He's a really good prospect with a great bbiq, but I don't see the transcendent superstar that others do and his dad could end up being a GM killer.
Kind of like when Cousins fell to #5, everyone thought he was the most talented or 2nd most, but not by a ton so they weren't willing to take the risk. Lonzo could have even more question marks because it's not like there's hope for his Dad to mature.

Lonzo has more baggage than Cousins at this point, ainec. Sad thing is, it has nothing to do with him as a player or a person (in a vacuum).

Amazing observation that the footspeed is too slow. So is the speed of that billion dollars from the (mostly) white owners of shoe companies.

I wanted the Celtics to draft Ball until I watched him play and realized he looks like a 7th grade girl when he shoots. How would he ever get a shot off in the NBA?

So apparently now Nike, adidas, and Under Armour have passed on Lonzo because of LaVar's Big Baller Brand demands. Can he not see how stupid BBB seems as a brand? HEY LOOK AT ME I'M A BIG BALLER LIKE THE BALLS CHOO CHOO COMIN THROUGH!

Lonzo is a grown man, just because he is quiet doesn't mean he doesn't agree with his father on many things. Those meetings weren't Ben Affleck going in acting as Matt Damon in Good Will Hunting. Leveraging your personal brand takes skill, guts and intelligence.

all Lonzo needs to do is say, "my dad is a clown" and disassociate with him in anything related to baskrtball, but he doesn't because they are on the same wavelength.

yea he could sign a deal and get a nice check right now but BOTH London and Lavar feel they can wait a few years and get Wealth type $ at an endorsement level.

I agree with what they are doing

It's so transparently the dad trying to get a piece of the pie for himself. In order to create generational wealth, whatever that means considering half the league is going to be making 10 mill a year at the current rate, you need to be Jordan or Lebron, maybe Steph. How's Starbury doing these days?

wrong, the dad only has say/piece/voice if LONZO allows it. Lavar has done an incredible job with his sons and you HAVE to believe he has done the work off the court because because because we are all witness'. They all believe in what is happening, Lonzo and LaMelo #1+#2, Lavar #3, Mom #4 and the middle kid #5. That was the order before the start of this year and Lonzo's results only made them more confident in what the family has been working towards.

It's obviously different because of the new tv deal and the fact that Lonzo will like make $20,000,000 a year on the court in 5 years but EQUITY is a real thing and with the way things are, its unlikely that the squad can get a LEBRON type deal. They want to be in the from the bottom to the top and will gamble on their ability to represent and make $. I am an east coast, non college bball fan and I love LONZO BALL, if he translates; itll be special
but again, the dad only has this because LONZO #1 is on board

the BBB website is laughably bad. I'd much rather shell out $60 for a TMT The Money Team t-shirt than anything on BBB
