After watching this clip, I'm starting to like Dad Ball a lot more; just seeing his perspective, whether you agree or disagree with his actions/words, I respect his approach. As a father myself, and wanting my son to be an athlete, I took away some solid pointers.
eta: ftr, obv saying Lonzo>Curry is a ridiculous statement (in a vacuum), but that's a secondary point to this video imo
Oh, you wish to live vicariously through your children as well? I'm sure your kid will loooooove that. Get your own life.
Edit: I'm reminded of my youth, when I played in various basketball leagues and on my school's tennis team, watching some of these parents micromanage the hell out of their children, even going so far as to demand the coach give their kids more minutes, etc. The kids in question always looked completely miserable.
My own parents let me do my thing, supportive if I wanted to train hard, but also supportive if I just wanted to trot out there and be mediocre and have fun with it. This despite my father being my coach for a couple of those years. I think this is partially why I thoroughly enjoyed youth sports despite being a scrub.
