Mater Dei out-coached them in the same way that I would out-walk someone if I took 3 steps without ****ting myself

Okay, Tracy Murray was doing color, I kept wondering who it was. I knew it wasn't Reggie Miller but he sounds so much like him.

Would be cool if someone could post a stream to those games.
There's nothing wrong with it if its realistic, but going one and done to play in a second rate European league seems dumb. Why on Earth should Liangelo be aiming to be a one and done guy. He's like the 40-60th rated prospect at his position and is a 3 star recruit. Who is the last 3 star recruit to go one and done and make it in the NBA? Has there even been one in history?

Everyone knows the middle one isn't going one and done. He knows it too.

It is just a lost less awkward of a narrative to talk about the 3 collectively (and for him to chime along).

Really - is he even going to start at UCLA?

I'm not sure I buy the "Melo has the highest ceiling" sentiment. Not saying he can't become something great - but Lonzo is almost a lock future NBA all star (right?) with really no ceiling. So "higher ceiling" doesn't make sense. Plus the connotation that Melo is going to be better than Lonzo seems silly and unlikely. I guess it is not impossible Melo > Lonzo - but I would buy future stock in Lonzo first.

Melo is technically a freshman and is the best player on an elite team while being prepubescent

Gelo should start practicing passing routes if he wants to go pro at a sport.

I think I agree right now. Kind of hard to tell since Melo is so young. What worries me a little is that weird hitch Lonzo has in his shot. I don't know why he hasn't gotten rid of that a while ago.

Whoever said the dad is annoying, I agree. At first I thought he was just kind of embarrassed and maybe someone told him to play up the whole bragging dad thing or whatever it was. If he is even remotely serious with stuff like that Laker quote he might want to cool out a little. Or what do I know, maybe people will eat it up.

Whatever Chino Hills feels like scoring and for UCONN, who knows? Chino Hills is allergic to defense so I dunno, 30 maybe?

Solid interview with LaVar Ball:

After watching this clip, I'm starting to like Dad Ball a lot more; just seeing his perspective, whether you agree or disagree with his actions/words, I respect his approach. As a father myself, and wanting my son to be an athlete, I took away some solid pointers.

eta: ftr, obv saying Lonzo>Curry is a ridiculous statement (in a vacuum), but that's a secondary point to this video imo

"That's our number, a billion, straight out of the gate. And you don't even have to give it to me all up front. Give us $100 million a year."

LaVar said last month that if Lonzo didn't sign with Nike, Adidas or Under Armour when he left college for the NBA, he would sign with the Big Baller Brand.

There is talk of Alford leaving UCLA for IU (*has been Alford - IU talk a lot in the past with nothing coming from it). But say it happens - any chance of pulling Melo Ball to IU in 2 years?

I get the impression the loyalty is to UCLA - not Alford. And especially given the Ball brand motivation of "big city, big stage for entertainment" in LA.

I don't see Alford leaving this year and he seems to have a loaded incoming class next year too.. so seems unlikely.

The one UCLA person I know said UCLA may already be sick of Mr. Ball's shenanigans and wouldn't really care if the other two went somewhere else.
