Pats beat Miami, the only team to beat the Bears that year, in the AFCCG to get to the SB

I grew up loving baseball and used to follow it religiously. This game killed that for me and I really haven't followed baseball near as much since. Yes, I catch games from time to time but I no longer have any emotional investment in it.

Also, if the Angles win then we don't have the Buckner error as a result plus Donnie Moore doesn't go into depression and eventually commit suicide.

Hell, it didn't even matter to me if the Angels won the WS or not. At that point it was just about getting there. Took the joy out of baseball for me.
If you watched this game, you remember Henderson also bumped a catch over the fence for a HR. The Baylor HR + the Henderson HR negate any Angels claim to anything.

I know. And Howie Long was pissed that year. Think he had a feud with Andre Tippett.

I expected Dkgo or maybe SugarNut to go with the Hitler > Owens answers. I'm really surprised anyone else went there.

That is probably my vote as well.

Runners-up:
Arnold Palmer winning any PGA to complete his Grand Slam.
Rocco Mediate over Tiger in the 2008 US Open--because **** Tiger Woods and whatever meds he was taking to get him through that tournament. And it would have been a huge upset and story at the time.

Interesting personal phenomenon when I was pondering this topic. Team sport outcomes seemed to lose their significance compared to individual sports.

I (49er fan) remember. Just before the pass to Rice that tied it 13-13.

Still would have had 14 minutes to go if Billups had caught it with SF down a touchdown. Far from "clinching it".

Djokovic beats Nadal in the 2013 French Open instead of touching the ****ing net. Would've pretty much ended the horrendous Nadal is GOAT arguments.

But yeah, Tom Watson winning in 2009, Gordon Hayward's 3, and Manning winning the SB with the Broncos are all legit choices as well.

Purdue vs Minnesota

Wish Robbie Hummel wouldn't have torn his ACL.

Minimum cost Purdue a final four or two. Probably robbed them out of a title or two as well.

Checkmate.
Speaking of Checkmate.

I'd have Bobby Fischer actually play against Anatoly Karpov in 1975, and wafflecrush the **** out of him.

The match never took place so I'm changing the outcome from no contest, to Fischer victory.

Pats beat Giants to go 19-0.

Mets beat Cardinals in 2006.

Spurs beat Heat in first matchup.

Bears beat Colts in 2006, Manning never gets (undeserved) ring.

well the actual game was decided on a time-expiring field goal after a ridiculously fluky not down by contact on the last drive, but yeah Im sure "wafflecrush" will be accurate this time

even a 20% chance at andrew luck giving you top 5 super bowl equity for like 15 seasons is better than being stuck at 0 with newton

Bartman is a red herring. If there is anything I would change, it would be this grounder ending in a double play:

hmm, tough call

June 14th 1994, Stanley Cup Finals Game 7
- Canucks lose
- people "riot"
- the team ends up hiring some dip**** from the clowns who beat them to run their team
- he runs them into the sewer, destroying everything people once loved
- it takes many years to recover and return to respectability
