Care to point out any holes in that, or just troll it up?

this is about the meme, so this'll be my last post on this, but tony romo is already 29. if he doesn't win a super bowl, he'll be basically vinny testaverde - there's no way he gets in the HOF without a super bowl ring, because he's not better than p. manning, brady, favre or brees, and he's probably not better than philip rivers, ben roethlisberger, donovan mcnabb, and perhaps even kurt warner; my point is basically that there are a ton of great quarterbacks in the league and no matter how many fake pro bowls romo goes to, it's not likely he puts together an HOF career

I'm obv a huge 'Boys homer (for those who don't post in the Beast thread), but all I'm saying is it's pure ignorance to brand the guy mediocre (which is what you're doing by saying he has no HOF potential) when he's demolished franchise records previously held by HOF QBs. I could go on, but it's a pretty subjective argument imo..

Re: The casual sports fan

Dan Marino played on one of the worst teams in NFL history throughout the 90s, without him none of those teams would have won more than 4 games in a season

I don't think him being 29 has as much to do with it as you think. He could feasibly have 10 more solid years imo. Otherwise I agree with what you said. However, Rivers, McNabb, and Big Ben, who you think are better, have yet to put up numbers in a season as good as Romo has. All that means is that he has the potential.. but a Super Bowl would obv help.

Considering he's only started 2.75 seasons, this is admittedly a pretty retarded thing to argue - like trying to say who will win the Heisman in week 3 of CFB

I'm not saying that that, in and of itself, accounts for a whole lot. But what it means is that he's been better out of the gate statistically than just about any QB in recent history. I'm more than a casual fan, and I believe he could be in the HOF one day. It's not all about Super Bowls.. look at Dan Marino ffs.
