I love the butt hurt. Keep it coming.

If the U.S. women were their own country, they would've tied for 2nd in the gold medal count.

How do you even get twice as many bronze as gold+silver combined.

Doesn't all of Canada live within 100 miles of the USA#1 border? They are just drafting on USA#1's greatness.

Replace the Olympics with a per capita Olympics, GDP-adjusted Olympics, land-mass adjusted Olympics, Government budget Olympics, and a quality of life adjusted Olympics.

USA #1 will still dominate all of them, haters will still find things to complain about

If Texas was its own country - which, let's be honest, to many of us, it is - it would rank eighth in the 2016 Olympics medal count with 42 total medals.

That means the Lone Star State by itself has more medals than all of Canada (22). Countries like Australia (29), Italy (28) and Spain (17) don't want to get into any kind of medal-counting contest with Texas, either. Oh, and host country Brazil (19)? Thanks for all your medals.

The 26 gold medals from athletes with Texas ties, without taking in consideration medals from other states, would rank third, only behind the United States (46) and Great Britain (27).

Of course, if we took away all the United States' medals that were won by Texans, then Texas would pass the U.S. as well.

But, then again, we're giving Texas credit for three gold medals for winning the men's basketball championship and two for winning the women's basketball title.
That's not how medal tallys work

I don't think anyone in the world thinks Texas is better than Canada or Australia

Texas vs anywhere in Canada vs anywhere in Australia might be a pretty competitive poll among those who have been to all 3. That's likely a small pool of people tho.

USA#1's Serena Williams establishes a new mark for consecutive weeks at the top of the WTA rankings (187 weeks), passing ze German Steffi Graf.

Also, Williams now has the most Grand Slam match victories (308 wins) in tennis' Open era. Finally, Williams is now 3 wins away from her 23rd Grand Slam singles title (which would break a tie with ze German Graf for the most in the Open era).
