Once I discovered gambling on sports I really stopped caring about professional sports too much. I still have a real soft spot for both the Pacers and White Sox because of memories with my dad but other than that I just don't care much.

It's part of the reason that I think USMNT fandom will eventually eclipse pro sports fandom.

They also filed for Anaheim Royals of Los Angeles, Los Angeles Royals & Orange County Royals.

It's probable, but this doesn't prove anything per se.

Honestly surprised no one snapped up the LA Chargers trade mark for there cornhole team seeing as how the writing has been on the wall for a little while and trade marks cost very little.

lol Kroenke

http://www.bloomberg.com/news/articl...-airport-radar

guy can't even come up with a stadium plan without ****ing up. Current proposal would **** with the radar at the airport and could cause planes to appear miles off course.

More like lol FAA. Those clowns are always complaining about any new construction over 1 story tall within ten miles of an airport.

A billion dollar stadium in vegas is pretty much the only time a city paying the entire bill of an opulent stadium is +EV for the city. Adelson seems to realize it since he wants to help finance the stadium.

Plus this means a super bowl. In Vegas. Cmon, there's no way you can go to ****ass San Antonio now that this is in play

That area of town would need some serious serious infrastructure work to make it remotely doable, but I'm cautiously excited.

They'd have like no home fanbase

NFL wouldn't let it happen anyway. OH NO GAMBLING THINK OF THE CHILDREN. They'd have to allow in game wagering just to get people in there that aren't opposing fans. Vegas just isn't a football town without being able to watch every game that's on.

Don't need one to sell out 8 games a year in Vegas.

Yeah, I'm sure we're just a pawn. Sounds like the project is going forward either way, though, which should at least be good for...UNLV football?

That's one thing Cleveland got right. When the Colts, Rams, Oilers and Cardinals moved the name and history should have stayed home, Texans should be the Oilers, Ravens should be the Colts etc.

The Las Vegas Raiders would be amazing but I can't imagine the NFL is ready to let that happen.

Also, lol at them not easily selling out 8 home games. The problem wouldn't be selling out but getting a crowd that favors the home team. There would be 30-40k+ fans for most opposing teams flying in for each game to visit Vegas and see their team play. That happens at UNLV games sometimes for college teams like Wisconsin.

The NFL is ok with gambling now and has been an active supporter behind the scenes in Washington. It's a change.

NFL is the one sport that could do well in Vegas. Love the idea.

Love the Vegas Raiders idea. Other teams as shown they don't care whose butt is in the seat as long as the seat is sold. And has been suggested the gambling thing seems to be diminishing. Hell the London team would have the same issue if that ever came about.

Could they even play in Sam Boyd for a couple years while development happens?

No, Sam Boyd stadium only seats like 40k max if even that much.

Was reading on ESPN that the proposed location was at the corner of Koval Lane and Tropicana, right by the airport. Seems like a dome there could have the same FAA issues as LA. I think you could extend the monorail there fairly easily to get people to/from but car traffic would be a mess.

I like the idea, definitely a good spot for the Raiders. Vegas can support a team probably and the corporations are in place to buy up the luxury suites, sponsorship, etc

Only thing is if LV finally gets a team, is Mark Davis really gonna be the guy to pull that off? By all accounts it seems like the other owners view him as a joke.

I would instantly renounce the Bills and become a Raiders fan if they came to LV. That would be so cool. I'd buy season tickets.

But it ain't gonna happen. It's just a bluff to make Oakland blink and give the Raiders what they want.
