Rupeni Caucaunibuca

Probally the best ball runner of any code (rugby, league, nfl, afl etc)

Extremely quick, agile and strong.

Look him up on youtube, had terrible work ethic, didnt turn up to training much and liked his weed a lot.

He could've been the next Orr.

I was gonna post him.

Well I guess we need a fourth category:

4) Kobe
4) mental midget / headcase / ******ed

For this I nominate the following former / current Los Angeles Clippers:

Al Thornton, Corey Maggette, Lamar Odom, Darius Miles, Chris Kaman (I know this one might seem weird but he's kind of an athletic freak for his size)

Alexandre Daigle was probably one of the most hyped #1 picks of all time and never amounted to much. He had a few solid seasons but his lack of motivation and drive kept him from being anything special.

Patrik Stefan is not only a huge bust, but he is responsible for one of the biggest blunders in NHL history. It sums up his career in a nutshell.

EDIT. The OP included injury, so I guess this will include Bo Jackson. Seems a silly mix to include injury with waste of talent. I hate to think of Bobby Orr as a waste of talent...

Holy ****ing ****. The amazing thing is he barely gains any ground until the start of the last turn, the two runners behind him are even catching up. Then he just turns on some kind of superhuman afterburners. He made the other dude look like he was jogging at the end. I don't know anything about running but I'm guessing the guy who got caught ran too hard early and gassed himself?

fast forward to about 2:40 in the video to see the last leg... obea was just an insanely good runner... he coulda given michael johnson much competition in the 400m

most guys "hit the wall" on the back stretch, feels like a monkey jumps on your back, you cant breathe, your line of vision gets narrow, and you are sucking gas... but guys like obea just turn it up faster there and glide

obea was like 30 m behind that guy on the last turn lol

Pretty good response, guy had so much potential. I know about the knee injuries that screwed him up, but never heard about the fireworks accident. I love how he came back to play FB and started about a season and a half. Dude was an athletic freak, after he gave up on playing QB, he really bulked up and was the only guy on the team that could pull a bus.

Another huge waste for FSU was Adrian McPherson. He was Mr. Football and Mr. Basketball in the state of Florida and was on the verge of a great career at FSU even with the ******ed Jeff Bowden at OC, but he had a 10 cent mind and many Nole fans are convinced he bet against FSU in the NC State game.

Ward probably wouldn't have even been as productive in the NFL as he was in the NBA. He's listed at 6'2", but probably not even that tall. The NFL is so enamored with measurables that's it tough to make it as a QB unless you're a legit 6'4"+.

Obea is a great choice; I'm surprised people know who he is.

Ken Griffey Jr. is actually a good choice - yes, he's a Hall of Famer, but he's an idiot for not conditioning and strength training since he thought it would ruin him. He gets what he deserves - a broken-down body as a result. Instead of being a Hall of Fame outfielder, he could have been the best player to ever live. That is not much of an exaggeration, for those who don't follow baseball.
